Doing the scenic drive around San Juan Island, we came to the village of Roche Harbor. Cute little area with a small grocery store, there were a few vendor booths set up selling items and the beatiful Hotel de Haro.
We decided to eat at Madrona Bar & Grill because their deck looked so nice and it was a beautiful day.
Unfortunately there were no seats on the deck available, so we opted to sit inside. The host brought us to a very big room and we sat near a window so we could see the view. There was a large family that was just leaving the room we were in and then that left just me and my friend. We must have sat there for 15 or more minutes and no one acknowledged us, there were servers and bus boys coming in and out of the room and totally ignored us.
Finally a table right under the window we were sitting near opened so I stuck my head out and asked the host cleaning off the table if we could have the table since we were being ignored inside.
Once we got outside a server approached us in a few seconds. I got a Shrimp Louie salad and I definitely have had better. They had the teeny tiny shrimp in there, and an over abundance of them. I love shrimp and should not be complaining about a lot of shrimp, but these were like the ones you bread for popcorn shrimp.
Our server then proceeded to slam a bee dead on the table directly in front of me which scared the [--] out of me enough for me to let out a scream. I was so horribly embarrassed from disturbing the other guests I was trying really hard not to cry, why would you do that, if the bee was bothering me I would have shooed it away.
Funny enough, but I would go here again, just for the view on the deck, probably stick with drinks and maybe try an appetizer this time?
