I stayed at this hotel for about a month in conjunction with a corporate relocation from Alaska. This would not have been my first choice but our company's lodging benefits are not the greatest and since there is a $45/night negotiated rate with us - this is where I landed when I got here.

We got off to a rocky start. When I got to my room, I discovered I could not make any phone calls whatsoever. All I got was a fast busy signal - local or long distance. I could, however, contact the front desk but that did me no good - the person on duty proclaimed she knew absolutely nothing about the phone system and suggested I use my cell phone. Since I did not have a cell phone, I resorted to making calls over the internet via Skype (Ithe wireless network was working, thank God!). I sent an email to the hotel manager, and the phone system was fixed the next day.

Phone problems aside, I was satisfied that I got what I paid for. This place appears recently renovated. It was clean and mostly quiet. The air conditioner worked, and that was nice since the Seattle area was in the midst of a heat wave and my blood had not yet thinned out after 26 years in the Far North. In the room there was a queen bed, a TV with a good selection of cable channels, two desks, a refirgerator, stove, microwave, and sink. There was also a toaster, coffeemaker, and assortment of kitchen utensils. I did not cook while staying there, the quarters were just too small and I did not want to smell the remnants of meal preparation while trying to get to sleep. Down the hall was a laundry and vending area ($1 to wash, $1 to dry), as well as a fitness room (treadmill and stair climber, both of which were in good shape).

Maid service is once a week. You can get fresh towels by taking your soiled ones to the front desk, where they will exchange them.

There is not much within walking distance save for a 7-11/Shell gas station a half block to the south. OK if you get in a pinch. Southcenter mall is about 2 miles to the west.

I stayed at the Renton WA Studios Plus for 8 nights, prepaid through Hotwire or I would have left after the first one.

The carpet in the halls, lobby and elevator was filthy. After 5 days when they still had not vacumned I had to mention to the desk clerk that a child could pick up and eat the pills on the carpet before they would vacumn. The carpet is very stained too but it was the garbage and debris including someone's fingernails and dropped pills that disgusted me.

The room was clean when I checked in but wasn't touched at all during my stay. The towels were replaced once. I was left clean sheets stacked on the coffee table. The room was nice and big and the kitchen was too. However, everything was chipped, torn, cracked or stained.

When someone cooked the entire hotel stank. I had two travel candles going with the windows open but still could smell it and the leftover cooking odor wasn't pleasant at all.

The air conditioner would not stay on. I had to keep waking up to press the override to get it to come on. It was in the 90's and hot and stuffy. I also needed the noise of the fan to help cover up the TV and talking in the adjoining rooms. Well insulated this hotel isn't, except between floors and from the hallway. There was no plumbing noise from upstairs and no door slamming noise from the hall.

Hotwire rated this hotel similar to Comfort Inn or La Quinta but I've stayed at the Seattle Airport Motel 6 that was cleaner and more comfortable although lacking a kitchen or couch. I stay at a Comfort Inn on a regular basis that is a palace compared to Studio's Plus and for not very much more money.

The mattress was very hard. The sheets would not stay in place either. I tried the hideabed mattress in the couch but it had springs that was broken and I couldn't sleep there either. The couch was too narrow.

I was in Seattle for a convention and was unable to get a good night's sleep until my boss took pity on me and put me up at the Hilton for my last night!

I've stayed at Homestead Studios, Candlewood Suites, Extended Stay America and Studio Plus, and I'd have to say Studio Plus is definitely #1 or #2 on my list. I like the Candlewood Suites room layout a bit better, but I've never seen a studio hotel that also has a pool, so this is the first time. It's outside, though. Nice and clean and quiet overall, despite it being completely booked while I stayed there. I think most of the people booked through Priceline. The rooms and the building looked practically brand new. Good location--right off the I-405, and also easy to get to the I-5 highway.

We stayed here on 2 separate occassions. The first was 7/20-7/23 and we were given room#315. This is a wheelchair accessible room. The room is bigger and wider than the regular standard rooms but the bonus is that the room had TWO beds! It was heaven. It was a nice surprise since I was expecting only 1 Queen and a sleeper. It is a full-sized kitchen similar to an apartment. They provided pots, pans, 4 plate settings, coffee maker, microwave and ice cube trays. You may want to bring dishwashing detergent or the portable Palmolive dishwipes. We did not have problems with the shower pressure or level of lights.

The second stay was 7/24-7/26 and we were given one of the typical rooms. It had a queen and sleeper sofa. Kitchen and room is smaller but we had an extra dresser. The bathroom lightbulb blew and we were not able to call out but that was quickly fixed. There were extra pillows and blankets in the closet for the sleeper sofa but no pillow cases.

Parking is free. Local and toll free calls are free. There is a prefix lookup card so you can confirm whether a call was local or not. There was cable TV with 3 Showtime channels and was sufficient. Walmart is a mile away on SW Grady and Rainier South. There is a free airport shuttle that operates from 7am-10pm at night and is in walking distance to Enterprise rent a car (corner of Oakesdale and SW Grady) where rates are lower than the airport location. The best priced gas station in the area is the HERTZ gas station located in front of Walmart. Free coffee from Tully is available in the lobby. There is a free exercise room. There was a pool that we did not use. Pool towels are available at the front desk (7am-11pm). There is a coin operated laundry room that appears to be open 24 hours. Costs are $1 for wash and $1 to dry per load. This will be our hotel of choice when we return to Seattle as it is conveniently located to the I-5 and I-405 freeway as well as the airport. Our only complaint is that housekeeping service is once every 3 days unless you specifically request service which is a bit inconvenient.

I stayed here on business and I liked it. It's a pretty basic place with not much for "extras" but the room was spotless and having a little kitchen area was a bonus.
They gave me a great rate since I stayed there over a month.
The hotel was bacically quiet and I had no complaints.
Good choice.
