I stayed at this hotel for about a month in conjunction with a corporate relocation from Alaska. This would not have been my first choice but our company's lodging benefits are not the greatest and since there is a $45/night negotiated rate with us - this is where I landed when I got here.
We got off to a rocky start. When I got to my room, I discovered I could not make any phone calls whatsoever. All I got was a fast busy signal - local or long distance. I could, however, contact the front desk but that did me no good - the person on duty proclaimed she knew absolutely nothing about the phone system and suggested I use my cell phone. Since I did not have a cell phone, I resorted to making calls over the internet via Skype (Ithe wireless network was working, thank God!). I sent an email to the hotel manager, and the phone system was fixed the next day.
Phone problems aside, I was satisfied that I got what I paid for. This place appears recently renovated. It was clean and mostly quiet. The air conditioner worked, and that was nice since the Seattle area was in the midst of a heat wave and my blood had not yet thinned out after 26 years in the Far North. In the room there was a queen bed, a TV with a good selection of cable channels, two desks, a refirgerator, stove, microwave, and sink. There was also a toaster, coffeemaker, and assortment of kitchen utensils. I did not cook while staying there, the quarters were just too small and I did not want to smell the remnants of meal preparation while trying to get to sleep. Down the hall was a laundry and vending area ($1 to wash, $1 to dry), as well as a fitness room (treadmill and stair climber, both of which were in good shape).
Maid service is once a week. You can get fresh towels by taking your soiled ones to the front desk, where they will exchange them.
There is not much within walking distance save for a 7-11/Shell gas station a half block to the south. OK if you get in a pinch. Southcenter mall is about 2 miles to the west.
