We stayed two nights at this hotel in early October 2008. As my mother was ill, we decided to get another room for her so we ended up with two rooms across the hall from one another. One room had 2 queens, the other 1 king.

As far as I could see, the only difference between the two rooms is that the 2 queen room has two flat screen TVs. I notice that previous reviews with photos show conventional TVs.

I really love the separate sitting area in the rooms at SHS. Just near the sitting area is a desk and a wetbar. The wetbar contained a microwave, coffeemaker and refrigerator. There were also 2 bottles of water which were free. A nice touch.

The beds were extremely comfortable and the hotel itself was nice and quiet. We went out for dinner one evening and happened to arrive back just when a coach group were checking in. We had to wait about 10 minutes for an elevator! There is only 1. Normally, I would've climbed the stairs but we were on the 4th floor.

My daughter used the swimming pool and I sat nearby utilising the free wi-fi internet on my laptop. The room was not over-heated which was good. A lot of hotel swimming pool rooms are and are very uncomfortable to sit in. The SHS at Renton had good airconditioning in the pool area.

The breakfast was fabulous. More than enough to satisfy us. There were egg patties and cheese so you could make your own egg muffin. My daughter loves those!

All in all, a great stay. I would recommend this hotel and definitely would stay here again.

Standard fare, clean rooms, good breakfast. A little hard to find. Good for the price.

Great place to stay before Cruise

We stayed here prior to a cruise to Alaska. It is very close to SEA-TAC and there are many companies that pick up on Saturday morning to bring you to the ports. We found this hotel from a review of another past cruiser. The rooms were great. There were four of us traveling together and with 2 Queen beds plus a separate sitting area with a couch, lounge chair, desk and wet bar area, it was great. It even had two TV's in the room.
Breakfast each morning was more than plentiful plus they offered to-go bags if you were on the run. I think it's geared more to the businesses in the area, but it worked great for us. Parking was free and it was so much less expensive than a downtown Seattle hotel. We were very happy with our stay.

Happy...pretty good

For the most part, we were pretty happy with the two night stay. We booked a one bed (king) suite.

About the rooms/hotel:
1)They have complimentry internet access in the rooms and a little center close to the lobby with a printer set up if you need it.. It was very convinent for the times that we are living in now.
2) The room was of a decent size for a suite....a small living room area, a small desk area for business types to get some work done if needed, and the bed area. The microwave and small frig is always convinent. The bathroom/vanity area was kind of small, but over all it was clean.
3)The only thing I would have to complain about this place are the towels. Overall they were pretty clean, but they felt like sandpaper on your skin as you are drying off. Terrible quality!
4)We were staying on the top floor (4th)....and it was pretty quiet. Someone was conplaining about the noise, but I think just as long as you don't stay next to the elevators you should be good. Just make sure you ask first before you accept the room.
5)The complimentry breakfast in the morning was okay. They have self made waffles, muffins, toast, cereal, and other pastries. They have some pre-made egg patties and sausage patties....that looked kind of gross. The egg patties look like cardboard cut outs. Ucky!
6)Service overall was pretty good...no complaints.

About the location:
1)The location was pretty good. It's kind of tucked away from the main roads....so your aways from the hussel and bussel of the cars. The hotel is really close to everything you might need. Shopping and restaurants. Not walkable distance, but a close drive.
2) This place is also close to Seattle downtown, the drive isn't bad if you are traveling with atleast two people because you can use the carpool lane. If your alone than try not to travel during rush hour as in any big city.
3)There's also a Town...something by Marriots and a Lake something next store that looked pretty good from the outside....so good luck to travelers who might be staying in the area and looking for a deal of some sort.

Smiles.... =)

Great Park and Fly for Seatac Airport

This SpringHill Suites in Renton is a great park and fly hotel. We drove down from BC because there was a great deal on a flight to San Francisco, nearly half as from flying out of Vancouver. The hotel runs a free shuttle to the airport on the hour or by request. The only hotel it shares the airport van with is the Towneplace Suites, also by Marriott. The hotel offers complimentary parking for your car while you are gone, so what we did was we stayed one night, and left the car there for 7 days. Other airport zone hotels charge something like $13/day to park.

The breakfast was good, make your own waffles with whipped topping and strawberry sauce, pastries, cereal, yogurt and eggs and sausage. The eggs were fluffier than eggs at someplace like Hampton Inn. They also had milk, coffee, juices and hot chocolate to drink.

We had a 2 double beds with 1 pullout suite. The rooms themselves are very big, complete with 2 LCD TVs (I'm pretty sure they were 32"). There is a microwave by one kitchen style sink near the door. Also, the bathroom sink is actually just outside the actual bathroom, so we found that great. We liked how we could have the 2 doubles and pullout because the 2 teens could each have their own bed.

The rate was $140, but easily worth that because of the parking. I'm pretty sure that is on the upper end of their rates, but that is dependent on the time of year that you go.

  • Liked — Big rooms, 3 beds, Park and fly, 2 LCD TVs
  • Disliked — Bit of a smell in the washroom when we first arrived
