“Clean & Friendly!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2006

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Pullman while attending a friend's wedding. I have stayed at various Holiday Inn's before, and found this location to be exceptional overall. I contacted the hotel by phone a number of times before I actually arrived and they were always friendly, courteous and helpful over the phone.

My room was clean and roomy with two queen beds, a lounge chair, a desk with a chair and a large cabinet that contained the TV, several empty drawers and a small fridge. The bathroom was what I would expect from this type of hotel, clean and adequate.

I used my do not disturb sign frequently and was never disturbed, even when I slept late. Whenever I returned from being gone for a time, I found that my room had been cleaned in my absence.

The continental breakfast supplied in the morning was better than average. They include boiled eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, cold cereal, fruit, bagels and a station where you can make your own fresh waffle.

The hotel does have a pool and exercise facility, but I did not have time to use it on this visit.

I enjoyed my stay, and would choose to stay here again when visiting Pullman.

  • Liked — Convenient location and clean facilites
  • Disliked — The two college sports teams that were staying there at the time.

Because my wife and I have a child attending WSU, we've stayed at this Holiday Inn Express property at least ten times over the past two years. Each stay has fully met our expectations. In every area of measurement, the Holiday Inn Express Pullman is far superior to any other lodging available in Pullman or Moscow. In fact, if the property is sold out, we will stay at a hotel in Spokane and drive the 75 miles to Pullman rather than stay at some other inferior (no offense, but the other places just aren't that nice) local motel.
The property is literally just a two or three minute drive from the WSU campus (you can walk it if you don't mind the hills) and is maybe a 15 minute drive from the University of Idaho. The motel is perhaps a ten minute drive from the Pullman airport (and it looks like the motel has a shuttle van that makes runs to the airport). The property appears fairly new and in any event is well maintained. The spacious and comfdortable lobby has coffee available throughout the day (the lobby is used for the complimentary breakfast service each day). There is a small business center with an inter-net capable PC tucked in next to the registration area/gift shop area. There is also a nice indoor pool and exercise facility on the main floor.
When we stay at this property we typically pay for a "parlour suite", which is a comparative bargain at about $112 per night. These two-room suites have a large living room with a wet bar, microwave, microfridge, coffee maker, and large conventional TV, along with a fold-out sofa bed already set up with linens. Two doors and the mid-suite bath separate the living room from the bedroom; the bedroom has a comfortable king-bed and a large conventional TV with remote. The bathroom is spacious. Each time we've stayed at this propertty the rooms have been very clean. No evidence (no odor) of any smoking in the non-smoking rooms.
Included in the room rate is morning breakfast (for lunch and dinner there is a Denny's just steps from the front door of the motel). The breakfast service has standard cold selections. Oddly, unlike other Holiday Inn Express proeprties we've stayed at, the property in Pullman doesn't serve the cinnamon rolls other properties serve but rather has a wicked-looking waffle iron guests can use to abuse batter in various ways. Don't get us wrong, the breakfast is nice and the cost (free!) is wonderful. But the breakfast area can get really crowded in the mornings.
The property is located on a well-traveled service street, and if you're stayin gin town for a few days, there is a Safeway grocery (and gasoline) store just down the road (less than five minutes). The allignment of the motel is such that almost all rooms are toward the rear of the building so noise at night is not an issue. What is an issue can be boistrous guests running through the halls at night. Which is why we always get a suite (the two doors isolate us from hallway noise.
The Holiday Inn Express in Pullman is a very comfortable lodging option that is reasonably priced. We recommend it.

Very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Came for class (which was conducted in the hotel conference room) and stayed here as well. Better than average free breakfast. Free cookies and milk at 7:00 p.m. was a nice touch. Room had a fridge. Soap and other usual hotel toiletries came well packaged. Front desk clerks were friendly and helpful. If the opportunity presents itself, staying at this hotel again would be a pleasure.

Surprisingly pleasant hotel. Good breakfast buffet (includes hard-boiled eggs for the protein fans). Very good exercise facilities (elliptical trainer, treadmill, cycle, pool). Wireless available in rooms. About 1.5 miles to WSU university. This is a football town - there is a special button on phone for football tickets and a gift shop for WSU football fan stuff next to the front desk.

This is our favorite place to stay in Pullman. Love the warm freshly-baked cookies and milk every night, and the breakfast bar in the morning. The staff is friendly, and the shuttle service is nice.

There's a Denny's that shares the parking lot... otherwise restaurants require a short drive (or you could just go hungry and wait for the cookies!) We often get cheap college-town pizza delivered to us.

Of course, it's a basic Holiday Inn Express, although we do frequently get upgraded to a jacuzzi room. But you're probably not going to Pullman for a romantic getaway. Good value for the price.

Hotel Inn Express - Pullman Washington offers some nice features: a good breakfast buffet, in-door swimming pool, and excellent van service (to and from airport, as well as to and from destinations on campus and in-town). Rooms are fine - and location is quiet. For food, one needs to take a bit of a walk -- the Denny's restaurant attached leaves a bit to be desired for most travellers.
