The desk attendant couldn't have been more helpful here. We chose a room on the 2nd floor, then after a walk retired to read and sleep....

Unfortunately, the headboard of our bed was immediately adjacent to the headboard of the bed in the room behind us. ( at least, that is what we surmise) Soon, we heard a VERY loud and audible snore directly behind us. My wife can't even tolerate ME snoring, let alone a stranger in the next room.

The Hotel was almost empty on this rainy April midweek night, and the clerk kindly let us shift to the other room next to ours, though he wasn't happy about allowing us to do that.

The price was good, the room was clean, and after we changed rooms we slept OK. I would pay the extra money for a cottage next time, though, as the walls between the 2nd floor rooms must be VERY thin.

Room Tip: spend the extra money and rent one of the cottages; avoid the 2nd floor rooms, unless you know who...

We stayed to watch the Acedemy Awards because we don't have a TV. The management gave us a lovely bottle of Washington State Champagne to celebrate.........beautiful amenities........but the cottage was quite small.......I think the rooms in the hotel proper are very roomy and plush. A nice break.......

nice and tidy room, great location (walked to a wonderful restaurant for breakfast), exceptioanl service from Paula at the front desk who gave us the rundown on shopping, very comfortable room was clean and had everything we needed. not a chain, so that was refreshing! would definitely stay there again but would upgrade to a room with a view of the harbor, although there is so much to see in town that it really wouldn't be necessary to spend time in the hotel room.

None of the cottages were available, but staying in a room on the second floor was terrific! Paula was on duty at the desk and couldn't have been more helpful. She researched thrift shops for us, helped us locate them on maps, had great suggestions for where to eat meals!! And, there were free DVDs to borrow AND microwave popcorn to accompany them. It was a great experience..... There were even laminated menus from many, many restaurants in the office. And the room was very comfortable, and had a little fridge, and a small microwave, and a nice TV. It was very clean and comfy! I will definitely stay here again! And I hope to try a cottage so I can have a little fireplace! Yep, great value and extraordinary service!

Room Tip: Cottages would be fun to stay in, but we chose the least expensive room that was available, and had...

We brought our group to Port Townsend for a three-day meeting and pretty much took over the hotel for the duration. The staff, and particularly the event planner we worked with, could not have been more helpful, patient and welcoming. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the area was very quiet at night. The views from the penthouse were spectacular.

Almost without exception, our group members reported that they very much enjoyed the experience.

One caveat: There are no elevators, so if you are in the penthouse, be prepared to carry your gear up four flights of stairs. Some sort of hoist for luggage would have been welcome.

Room Tip: The penthouse will accommodate a largish meeting in the main area as well as having two bedrooms. F...

This was our third trip to Port Townsend and our first time at The Swan. It was fantastic!! They had a special offer and we received a bottle of wine, two theatre tickets, and a $40 coupon for supper out. Staff were very welcoming, the room was clean and well equipped. We had view of the Marina and it was the quietest place to stay. It was within walking distance of all of downtown and there was lots to see on the waterfront.
We will ABSOLUTELY go again and recommend to all our friends.

Room Tip: Room A8 overlooked the marina , great view and very quiet
