Thhe historic homes at Fort Worden are not for everyone, especially is you are looking for luxury, new modern furniture, or full service. But they are perfect for families and groups who want to enjoy this beautiful setting in an historic home. The furniture may see a bit old, the appliances dated, but everything is very clean and the rooms are large and airy, with high ceilings.

There were supposed to be poop bags and doggie treats too, but they forgot those. We did bring our own cleanup bags, and there are dispensers with more at several trailheads.
We cooked one nice dinner(halibut and salmon from the fish market, vegetables from the farmers' market we visited that morning), wine and additional accompianaments from Aldriges market in Uptown. ). The other night we went out for dinner in town. We spent our daytime hours walking the trails, taking the dog for a swim at the beach ( where we had to bypass a group of river otters on one side of the pier), and visiting some nearby cider houses. It was a lovely, relaxing weekend and the Fort Worden accommodations made it possible. And the weather was absolutely perfect.
If you want to bring your dog you don't have many choices, but this place, although not as "...
