“An Octopus has 9 Brains! REALLY!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

What a great place! Well worth the nominal fee! You can see all kinds of fish and this killer octopus that is way cool. The guides there share a wealth of information about the sea and the creatures from the sea. Wonderful experience for Children. I felt like one when I was there. Who knew an octopus has 9 brains...I didn't. Loved it. And it shows you to give respect to the ocean....there's an exhibit that shows what is found in the water....would make you cry. I'll probably go back one day. Wonderful learning experience. Also check out the Orca exhibit across the street......if you love Orcas....you will really love this!

“fabulous place for kids and adults to learn!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

The Marine Science Center staff were amazing - so cheerful, knowledgeable, friendly and relaxed. The exhibits kept my wife and I engaged for several hours, and we took home some great information about toxins to think about and research in our own time. Loved it! Everyone should go touch the marine life and learn about orcas!

“Learning & lots' of fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

On the Admirality Inlet where Puget Sound meets the Strait of Juan De Fuca, the Port Townsend Marine Science Center (PTMSC) greets children and adults alike with engaging and fascinating exhibits - the touching pools housed at the end of Fort Worden's pier overlooking the Inlet - the brilliant "Story of Hope" Orca exhibit with the restored adult female Orca skeleton overlooking powerful interactive displays. Visit, learn and enjoy with the whole family.

“Great experience for the whole family.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is a great exhibit about the ocean and its treasures. They have wonderful touch tanks so you can experience marine life "first hand". They also have aquaria full of beautiful and exotic marine species. They also have an exhibit devoted to orcas, and the effects of pollution on sea life. Well worth a visit, great entertainment and education for the whole family.
