“Healthy and delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

We liked the choices and the fact that they use local ingredients as much as possible. Servers were helpful and friendly. Both dinner and breakfast offered us just what we want: healthy, creative, delicious food. My husband even said that the chef's granola is as good as the granola I make.

Thank you for making the time to share your impressions about The Fireside with us....we are delighted that you enjoyed - and appreciate - what it takes to be fully committed to supporting our local farms. Though we do not want to step into your granola success on the homefront - we are delighted with the comparison. We cannot think of a better way to start the day than when "Dave's Granola" is garnished with local berries and freshly made yogurt. We hope you'll find occasion to return to our area and visit again soon. Thanks again!

“Best biscuits and gravy ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2013

After 42 years of life and travel all over the world I finally found the perfect biscuit and grave breakfast. Wonderful sausage and fresh ingredients were used to make the gravy and the biscuits were handmade. Best of all....no mid-day heartburn! Compliments to the Chef!

EVER? That is THE highest praise we can receive - so thank you! We have been on a quest to make the best biscuits & gravy - and are delighted that you believe we have climbed this summit. This was actually a recommendation from one of our "locals" - who suggested we were missing something by not having this as a breakfast item...we listened and this is now among our "best sellers" for breakfast. Thanks so much for the really happy review - and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

“Fabulous Breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Recommendation by another sailor, this sweet little port harbors this wonderful inn and Fireside Restaurant. We were sooo satisfied and the waitress recommended the French toast (has a fancier name) and was she right on!! FABULOUS!! Highly recommend and the people were so friendly!

Thank you for this terrific review of The Fireside. Yes, Port Ludlow is a calm place of refuge - one of the reasons boaters love our marina so much. AND we are delighted that you enjoyed the "Challah Pain Perdu" - aka French Toast. Fancy name - but just plain yummy. We really appreciate that you made the time to share your impressions and look forward to your return visit.

“Highly over rated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

Special day with friends spoiled. Seated outside, beautiful view. Long wait for waitress. Arrived after fifteen minutes. Ordered coffee and drinks. A half hour later the drinks were served, no coffee. Had to ask for water in water glasses. Another half hour for breakfast to arrive. Potatoes cold and hard, ham cold, toast cold, hard, not toasted and no butter or jam. Sausage cold. Had to ask for coffee twice before it was served as I was finishing my breakfast and no cream. Coffee was cold by the time the cream arrived.
All in all the food was cold, the service was poor, the waitress was very inept. The resident discount was not applied and the waitress did not know how to apply the charge to my account.
The sad part is that this is very common for this business. They are only rated high in this community because the other restaurants are a café and a pizza house. The café has excellent food and service.
