“Convenient location to Mt. Ranier NP & Mt. St. Helens NM.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2013

CT Lodge was very clean inside and out and hosts were pleasant. Appeared to be the newest lodging in area. Breakfast was good, many choices available. Bed pillows were poor, ie, little filler substance that parts away when head lays down on the pillow. Seemed like a Super 8 structure with higher rates, but was reasonable for the somewhat remote location. Convenient location to visit both Mt. Ranier NP and Mt. St. Helens NM. Beautiful area. Observed several elk around town in evening. Few dining choices in town. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Convenient location to visit both Mt. Ranier NP and Mt. St. Helens NM. NO elevator in lodge. No view...

Fluffy pillows, TV, internet, hot showers, and... breakfast! Amazing breakfast! If you're fueling up for the day or recovering from the day before, this place had scrambled eggs, waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, fruit, oatmeal, juice, coffee, tea, and more. The owners/managers were helpful, kind, and informative. We went up to White Pass overnight, to ski and relax. Besides a few noisy neighbors (not the hotel's fault... parents, please keep your kids in line) we had a great time. Would stay again.

Great place to stay after a good day of skiing. Clean, cozy. And nice employees. Breakfast Is better than most hotels including waffles, cerual, yogurt, and eggs. A couple glasses of eine at night is a nice added bonus as well.

We stayed two nights at the Crest Trail Lodge in Packwood. Our room was clean and tidy. The room was appointed with a mini fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and flat screen TV. Our room looked out on the back of the property with apple and pear trees in abundance. We watched wild elk feeding in the wooded area in the mornings. Complimentary breakfast was included and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall comfortable and a good value.

From Packwood it is easy access to the Stevens Canyon entrance to the Park. Due to park roadwork in early October, the Stevens Canyon road to the Paradise area was closed. We drove to the Nisqually entrance to MRNP using Skate Creek Road.

The Crest Trail Lodge in Packwood was fantastic place to stay! We only stayed one night because we had reservations for our other nights at the Paradise Inn in Mt. Rainier NP. We felt like we got way more than we paid for with this hotel. The rooms look like they have been recently updated, and everything was clean and comfortable. The couple who manages the hotel are extremely friendly and go out of their way to be helpful, and are very hardworking. The breakfast was nice, although it would have been nice if it started a little earlier in the morning. There were quite a few people waiting for breakfast to start and it was a bit of mad rush in the breakfast room. I'm guessing the hotel was on the full side since it was near peak wildflower time at Rainier. One minor gripe with the room is that there are no towel bars. I'd suggest putting at least one (maybe two) in the bath/toilet room and at least a hook by the sink to hang a hand towel. But that wasn't a big deal and I would happily stay here again!

We stayed overnight 10/8/12 and had a nice evening and very nice breakfast next morning. The place was not very full, and we had only a brief knowledge if the next door neighbor for a few minutes (wall are really "thin" to people noises). If the place is busy, you may have some distracting sounds from neighbors. The clerk was very friendly and helpful.

Biggest complaint was that there were no towel racks! Rather fundamental flaw, but not a terrible lack. Clean, no odors, and good flatscreen TV, but slow WiFi which otherwise worked OK.

Stay upstairs in back near west end for quietest location.

Funny pricing policy, they charge extra if you use the second bed.

We liked the place and would stay there next visit.

Room Tip: Stay upstairs, back side, at west end for least noise. Ask if they have installed towel racks yet...

After pin pointing what town we would stay in on our trip through WA State, Packwood fit in perfect ( Close to Mt Rainier NP via the short cut ) . I researched places to stay in Packwood and I loved the great reviews that the Crest Trail Lodge had on Trip Advisor. We arrived late in the afternoon and we were greeted with a warm welcome at check in. We headed to our room and we were delighted at how cute and clean it was. Everything looked to be newly redone and the room was of good size too. The lodge also has wine tasteing in the evening so we took advantage of sampling some of WA's wonderful wines!.
Breakfast is served in the morning and there is quite the variety to choose from ( scrambled eggs, waffles, muffins, toast, cereals etc. ) Everything we ate was hot and fresh and we walked away full and ready to start our day hiking in Mt Rainier National Park!
