“Quiet little beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 14, 2012

We like to visit Pacific Beach State Park because it is very quiet. Nothing to do there, but that's how we like it.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

No fire pits available and not much of a place for tent campers, mostly RV camping

“watch the sunset, take a shower and walk to town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2011

We've actually been here a number of times. We like to used to day use. However with them charging a fee now we just drive right on the beach and go from there. This park is great for RV's but not so great for tents because there are no barriers or trees between the camp spots. Has decent shower's and plenty of restrooms. I like how you can walk right onto the beach a few feet away and watch the sunset.

“Fabulous beach for camping, play, wildlife, and exploring”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2008

Immediately adjacent to the town on one side and the beach on the other, Pacific Beach State Park features a wide, sandy beach and a tent and RV campground with an unobstructed view of the ocean. A day use area is provided with parking, a picnic table, and access to the beach.

The sand stretches 1/4 to 1/2 mile out from the campground, depending on the tide. The beach is bounded to the south by Joe Creek, which runs waist deep in the summer. In this direction on a clear day you can see distant Copalis Rock. To the north, sandy, eroding cliffs rise up along the beach where a few eagles perch. A mile and a half walk will bring you to the Analyde Gap Road, a paved road down which cars may drive onto the beach. The sand continues north uninterrupted through the town of Moclips, onto the Quinault Indian Nation, until Point Grenville - a volcanic rock with a collection of seastack rocks and a reef all around it.

Dogs are permitted off-leash on the beach. Bonfires are permitted 150 feet from the dune grass. Razor clam digging is permitted on limited days per year as designated by the Department of Ecology.

Seagulls are always in residence. At least one eagle lives in the cliffs. Sandpipers and other shorebirds are sometimes seen. Beachcombers will find sand dollar shells, clam shells, seaweed, driftwood, washed-up crabs (a favorite of the seagulls), and the occasional dead sealion or seal (which brings the eagle out).
