“Very comfortable stay in Olympia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013 via mobile

This hotel sits amongst tall evergreen trees with an attractive lawn and pool in back. The room are clean, with comfortable beds and bedding, microwave, mini fridge and flat screen TV. The standard hotel bathroom was fine.
We had a nice stay over a July weekend and were able to use the pool.

1. “A gorgeous setting above Capital Lake”- One of our best amenities!
2. “A bright clean room with refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker”- We'll give our housekeeping team a pat on the back.
3. “Excellent beds”- They are our signature 'Stay Comfortable' beds’. They are quite cozy!
4.” Luxurious linens”- Clean, fresh linens can make or break a stay. I'm glad they made yours!
5. “Savory bistro”- Executive Chef Manny says 'thank you'!
6. “Relaxing pool & hot tub”- A 'must' in the summer time. Our Chief Engineer, Ed, keeps it impeccable!
7. “Helpful friendly staff”- They are the foundation of our hotel. They are awesome!
8. “A pet-friendly hotel”- We love accommodating Fido.
9. “A reasonably-priced room”- Our General Manager says 'thank you'! He works very hard on this.

The room was clean and met my expectations. The facility is pleasant and nicely located. I would stay here again if in the area. The only problem we had was that the ice machine on our floor was out of ice.

We stayed at this hotel for my sons baseball tournament as referred to us by his coach. It really needs updates to carpet and bedding, looked very old and worn. We chose this hotel because of the outdoor pool and free breakfast. Pool was having problems and was closed the only time we had a chance to swim, and the breakfast was ok, not warm but edible. Our room was right next to the pool and there was LOUD music playing all night through the hotel speakers by the pool, very hard to sleep. I will chose a different hotel for next time.

Thank you for taking time to write us a review. I wanted to first off, apologize that your stay with us was anything less than spectacular. We have high Red Lion standards, and certainly try to meet them with all of our guests.

I did receive your guest survey, and was able to check on the exact date you visited the pool to find it closed, and unfortunately one of the pumps had to be disassembled due to clogging from a pool toy. While the pool was only closed for 90 minutes, I regret that this caused you any inconvenience.

We have some exciting upgrades, which include our corridors and lobby planned for the upcoming 2014 year, and combined with amazing Red Lion service, we trust a future visit to us would be more than satisfactory.

Best regards,

The Red Lion in Olympia was in a what seemed like a good neighborhood. The hotel is large,,and so the walk to the room was a bit longer than I like. Hallways and elevators seem a little dark, small and worn out. The room was clean and had no smell of smoke. Beds were good and I got a good nights rest. I would stay here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We had two rooms on the third floor and really enjoyed our stay. We hadn't heard of Red Lion before and were told it was the hotel where the rest of our family was staying for my grandmothers 100th birthday. The pool was heated, clean, and relaxing. It was a very nice experience.

We stayed for 3 nights in a king room on the first floor. This was our 2nd time staying at this hotel. Great location, with easy access to the freeway, but situated in a very quiet area. The room was decent sized, though the bathroom was pretty small. My wife and I agreed that the best part of the room was the bed. We slept great all three nights.

For a great view, go to Overlook Point Park, just about a mile or so south of the hotel. This is a hidden gem, well worth the trip.
