I enjoyed the food at Cascadia, I have been there many times. More recently it seems to be quite a popular place for families who let their children act unruly. I sit in the bar area like I normally do to avoid the constant whining, crying, etc of children so I can enjoy my dinner.
One evening in particular a group of women came in and sat near the bar with a very loud and disrespectful toddler. It has always been my understanding is that if your child is misbehaving the parent should remove themselves and the child from the table until he/she can behave properly as to not disturb other guests. It is also my understanding that restaurant management should step in in the event the parent does nothing and the child keeps causing a ruckus. Cascadia did neither. My husband politely mentioned to the table with the misbehaving child as well as management that this is disrespectful to all dinner guests in the restaurant for which he was told, "if you don't like it leave."
What kind of manners is that? You won't be getting my business because that is unacceptable. He was trying to alleviate issues that may occur in the future but he was treated poorly. Wow!
