“Low Quality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

This hotel is perfect for people who don't know what a typical DoubleTree property should be. The staff was great and the bed was high quality. It was a good location to restaurants, the water, and other places downtown. Other than that, though, our room resembled that of a Super 8 hotel. Our room was missing a tv, the walls were bare which made the room very loud, the bathtub was that cheap plastic kind of tub, and wallpaper was hanging from the walls in the bathroom. Our American Express is a Hilton card so we stay at many Hilton properties - most Hampton Inns are higher quality than the room we stayed in. I was very disappointed that Hilton was trying to pass this hotel off as a DoubleTree property.

We went here for one night, when we went in the room was hot, so we turned on the AC. 7 hours later, it was still hot. We called the manager and he told us to turn the heater on, and wait for the compressor to melt. That didn't work, so we called him again and he recommended that we use a fan (they didn't have any), so we used ours that we brought, and there was no screen in the window! So we opened up the AC Unit and saw that it was completely frozen, so we got the blow dryer and melted the ice. Finally, once we fixed it with a blow dryer, he brought up a fan.

TL;DR: We were hot, AC was broken, Staff couldn't help.

Room Tip: The two queen and one king room is very spacious.

Thank you for your expressing the problems you encountered during your stay at the DoubleTree. We sincerely apologize for the substandard condition of your AC. At the Doubletree, we take great pride in our high standards and unfortunately we did not meet those standards. My hope is that you will allow us another opportunity to wow you on your next stay. Please feel free to contact me directly so I can personally make your reservation.

I stayed the evening of July 3, 2014 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in the historic downtown of Olympia. My AAA rate for a basic king room was $170.05 plus tax and fees, for a total cost of $190.41. I recommend this hotel as the best place to stay in the historic downtown area of Olympia. It is adjacent to numerous waterfront restaurants, and it is a very clean and comfortable property. My king size bed was very comfortable, and the linens and towels were better than average.

On a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is terrible and 10 is excellent, I rate this hotel as a solid 8. And make sure that you ask for the signature DoubleTree cookie at check in!

The room was very nice and clean with lots of space and extras that made our week long stay very comfortable. The salt water pool was delightful as well as the fitness room. The location is perfect for exploring downtown Olympia and a trip to the farmer's market is highly recommended and only a short walk away. There is also nightlife to be enjoyed within walking distance and one of the best Thai restaurants that we've ever been to Lemongrass should be sought out if you also enjoy Thai food.

The girls on reception were so helpful, they never stopped smiling, the young man who took our cases up to the room was so kind and recommended a few places to eat, all in all a delightful stay when we were jet lagged and so very tired, very clean and comfortable. Excellent location

Great location and one block to several good restaurants on the water. Be sure to ask at the front desk for any coupons for local restaurants. I asked for directions to one restaurant and was given a coupon for a free appetizer with any entree. Breakfast is not included but there was a good choice of menu options. I would definitely return.
