Last spring we had a week off of hosptial treatments in Seattle for my baby so we splurged and went to Ocean Shores for the weekend. We were lucky enough that the Best Western had room. To be honest it was the first hotel I saw and was tired and pulled in and asked for rates and availablity. I could not have had any better luck. We stayed on the 3rd floors where the views were spectacular, this hotel IS the closest to the beach. The first night the kids and I spent almost an hour watching an amazing sunset. The mini kitchenettes are not so mini with a large dining table, microwave, fridge, counterspace and coffee maker. Each room has balconies which were fun and each room has their own lawn chairs, but a little stressful with little ones. Downstairs they have a wonderful pool and hottub for winding down at night. The continental breakfast is very nice and they don't mind if you take a roll and yogurt on the road as you check-out. Guests can borrow a key and take the stairs to the lighthouse for amazing views. We never ate at the restaurant having gotten a kitchenette to save money by making sandwiches, but the money saved not eating out to spend on a beachfront hotel was so very worth it. Literally if you do not turn left into their parking lot and continue straight you will be on the beach in 2 minutes!!!! Even though the hotel is nicely decorated and quite pretty, the clerks are understanding that families come here to take their kids to the beach and get dirty and never gave me a bad look or word as we would go covered in sand thru the lobby to our room. I HIGHLY reccomment this hotel, it is worth the extra money and weekdays are cheaper.
