“Weekend getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

My husband and I had the rare opportunity to have a weekend away, so we booked the weekend at Judith Ann inn. When we arrived I was so surprised it is absolutely beautiful! The view is beyond anything that I could explain. The room is so big, full kitchen with all the amenities nice surround sound, and the bed was super comfy. Our room had a hot tub that looked out at the ocean. If you have the opportunity to stay don't hesitate, you will have an amazing experience! The staff was very helpful suggesting places to eat, see etc.

Room Tip: All rooms have an amazing view

We stayed at the Judith Ann Inn for two nights at were not impressed. Upon checking in, we opened a lockbox to get our key. The only time a staff member was there during our stay was the second day for several hours. The Inn is older and needs updating and maintenance. The pictures on the web make it look upscale, but it's not. The stairs are made out of vinyl or some type of plastic and all of the decorations in the units are inexpensive. The robes are not soft and older and the towels are not in the best shape. The one full day that we were there, when we wanted to relax on the balcony, we ended up listening to a pressure washer. When we asked the guy how long he was going to be he said they had a big wedding on the weekend and he was going to stay with the job until he was finished....so much for hearing the ocean. The ironing board is like the little ones you have in college, so it was very difficult to iron even a small shirt. The bathroom had two rugs in it which were dirty. The one near the toilet smelled like urine, so we're guessing they do not get laundered regularly. The unit we were in had a constant noise which sounded like the bathroom fan on from the unit below us. We asked the staff about it and they said it was probably the ventilation fan in the closet. Either way, it was very disturbing and not relaxing to listen to. Also the balcony had clumps of dirt on it, including the chairs. We had to clean the chairs and sweep the balcony before we could go out and sit there. On the positive side, when the pressure washer wasn't running, the ocean sounded nice and there were lots of birds/wildlife in the brush near the Inn. There was some good information on the restaurants in the local area in the room. I agree with another reviewer that the IGA grocery store was less than desirable to shop at. Maybe a trip into Aberdeen would have provided better options. We did find a shop in Ocean Shores where artists from the Pacific NW sell their items....we bought a few things and chatted with the owner, this was a highlight. Overall, between the noise and the uncleanliness, we won't be back to the Judith Ann Inn.

Thank you for reviewing with us. We are truly sorry that your experience with The Judith Ann Inn did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately at the time of your arrival you came at a time when we were doing our yearly power washing and spring cleaning. We regret that it interrupted your stay and you were not able to enjoy the property. We were under the impression that we had followed up on the situation with the ventilation noise to your satisfaction and we wished you had mentioned the cleanliness issues that surfaced so that we could have addressed them right away. We welcome all constructive criticism and will do our due diligence to improve on the issues you have brought to our attention. Thank you again.

If you are looking to get away from the norm this is the place to go. Gorgeous huge suites, kitchen well equipped with everything you could possibly need. There is no maid service unless you ask, which I liked. I don't need to change the sheets everyday, I can make my own bed. There are extra towels in the hallway closet should you need them. We stayed in the Chattanooga Suite, and the only complaint we had was whomever was in the room directly above us, either had an unruly child or a large dog....there were quite a few times I swear they were going to come through the ceiling!!! There TV was on full blast, till all hours of the morning. I had to leave my suite at 2 a.m. go up to theirs and ask them politely to tone it down. My next stay I am going to pick a room on the top floor. Other than other rude customers, this place is peaceful and perfect for couples!!!

Room Tip: Stay in upper floor rooms so you don't have to hear the people kids or animals running across th...

Thank you for your wonderful review, we are so glad that you found us to be above average and recommendation worthy. We are terribly sorry you had to experience a type of guest that made your stay troublesome and inconvenient for you in the middle of the night. That is not something you should ever experience with any hotel stay. With that, we are very thankful that you will still choose to come see us again and we will insure top floor accommodations for you. On behalf of myself and the staff we thank you again and look forward to seeing you in the future!

You really just can't beat this place. This property contains from what I see, just 8 suites total. So unlike hotels where there have hundreds of other rooms, parking that is spotty, less than stellar privacy .... you won't get that at the Judith Ann Inn. There is plenty of parking, plenty of privacy, nice views of the ocean, full kitchens in all the suites (so if you choose to cook yourself, you can), separate bedrooms, Jacuzzi tubs, surround sound TVs, gas fireplaces, balconies, and a friendly staff. I have been coming to Ocean Shores for over a decade (at least a few times per year). Last time I was in Ocean Shores (September 2013), I found the Judith Ann Inn. This trip I was sure to choose this property again. And, I have no plans on looking anywhere else when I am in Ocean Shores. This IS the place I want to be when visiting Ocean Shores.

If you are considering coming to Ocean Shores, read the reviews here ... You won't find any bad ones & that should be something to consider! Well done Judith Ann Inn ..... We'll be back again and again.

Room Tip: All eight suites are good. Try your best for a second floor (corner rooms are a bit more private...

We recently stayed for one night while visiting the Pacific northwest. This location provides a good view of the water. Room was very spacious and clean. We were the only guests at the Inn during our visit and there was no staff present at our arrival or during our visit, which created a less inviting experience, but other than that, we enjoyed the stay. This appears to be one of the higher end spots in town.

We appreciate you submitting your comments and giving out location advice. We are glad to hear that the room met you expectations for your visit. We apologize that you did not see someone during your stay, we have limited office hours during our off season as to accommodate the slower times and to be non- intrusive to our guests. Again, thank you very much for your flavorful review and we hope to see you in the future.

First time staying in this gem!
We wanted to arrive early so we could watch the football game and they not only had the room ready - but had the game tuned on the television and the surround sound on! The power proceeded to go out in the whole town of Ocean Shores during a huge windstorm but they let us know where we could go to watch.
The suite is very large and very nicely decorated with a modern/Victorian feel, with a jetted tub in the main great room. We stayed on the second floor in the Lexington Suite where there is a view of the ocean and a small deck. It was overly windy during our stay, but the deck would be amazing in the better weather.
Really liked the selection of kitchen items and the full sized refrigerator for cooking our own meals, and then just loading the dishwasher.
We will definitely be coming back during the summer!

Room Tip: I would choose a 2nd floor room and bring binoculars to people watch from the deck

My girlfriend and I booked a room for our anniversary weekend and we showed up very early. The woman that checked us in was very nice and let us choose a different room then what we had reserved. We stayed in the New Orleans suite and it was amazing. Huge private porch with a view of the dunes and the ocean. Very comfortable suite with a jet tub in the living room. So many qualities I can't even begin to describe how great it was.
I proposed to my fiancé later that night and when the manager on site learned of it she brought us champagne and a teddy bear to congratulate us.
What I loved most about this place was how private our stay was and we were never bothered by anyone. I could go on and on about how amazing it was but you just need to experience it for yourself.
We will be defiantly be referring friends and family to the Judith Ann inn and most likely have our wedding reception there as well.

Thank you for a wonderful weekend.

I left my contact info for the woman that checked us in so we can send her a thank you gift.
I hope she reads this.
