“Where East Meets West”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

The Polynesian Resort in Ocean Shores, Washington overlooking the Pacific Ocean and nearby Olympic National Park is ideally suited for a blending where East meets West in an appealing coastal setting. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and every effort is made by the house staff to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. For those travelling with their pets, The Polynesian Resort is pet friendly. Their pet policy is straightforward: "We strive to ensure your pet's stay with us will be as comfortable and enjoyable as yours!" I did not dine there, so I cannot address the quality of their food; however, I would be surprised if it were not as appealing as its lodgings are. Oh yes, for those who like clam hunting, the beachfront adjacent to the Resort is well stocked.

I've been at this hotel for family reunions every year for the last 4-5 years. Staying in the Penthouse is the best experience, the view alone is worth it. The staff are so friendly, always willing to talk. The bed was very comfortable and I love the full kitchen. The livingroom was a great place for all of our family to meet and talk. The pool and jacuzzi are always fun. I didn't try the breakfast as I'm addicted to bacon when out on vacation. Unfortunately there was quite a storm while we were there which caused the fireplace to rattle non-stop and the doors to rattle. Overall a great experience and I'll go here again next year! No fitness center.

Room Tip: Room 402, the Penthouse, is always my favorite.

This was our first trip to Ocean Shores, we had called a few days in advance to reserve the room, Ken was the one who reserved our room and he was beyond kind and helpful, but when we actually checked in to our room a woman helped us get settled in, she was very kind and helpful as well. I love that the pet friendly rooms are clean and nice. The Hot tub, heated pool and sauna are all wonderful, the arcade is a nice touch. And my husband said he walked to the beach in less than 5 minutes. The only remotely negative thing I would have to say about the Poly is that the rooms furniture is old and outdated, and it has an old musky smell through the entire hotel. I'm guessing this is only because the hotel and it's furniture are old, but the smell is unpleasant, reminds me of an old antique shop. But everything else makes up for it, they are very amazing with customer service, and the full kitchen (stocked with dishes & utensils) makes u feel right at home. They have free WiFi and cable, and a swing set outside for kids. Oh and a pool table!! Also the restaurant offers room service but it's only open from 4-8:30. The rooms are VERY affordable, and they also offer military discount. It's an extra $15.00 per night per animal but that's totally worth it and doable. I am 100% satisfied with our room, and the service we've received. For the prices we paid and all the perks of the Polynesian, this is more than worth it, we will be back to stay here if we we've return to Ocean Shores.

My boyfriend and I stayed there last week for 2 nights. Ken is a great addition to the Polynesian Resort and was very helpful. We got a Studio/Kitchenette room. The room was clean, great full ocean view, and the continental breakfast was exceptional! I loved the freshly made waffles. Besides that, the game room had a great selection of games but is muchly outdated. The pool, hot tub and sauna were great to have as well. I would recommend this place to anyone. Very quiet place away from everyone.

Room Tip: Ocean view is well worth it!

We have been using this as our go to vacation spot for years. We use this as a spur of the moment I need to get out of town and always enjoy having a full kitchen and being able to take our dog and not having to stay on the ground floor. The kids love the pool and the family room that has puzzles or games that we can borrow for the night in our room.

We ended up staying here, after we had mishap on the beach, all other hotels were booked. And other hotel didn't have room for us to stay. The was great, with nice of the ocean. The whole was caring and understanding to our situation and worked with us to lower on our room. They went out of there to make us feel welcome. They have nice, warm and clean view. They are walking distance to a lot of stuff. Which made it nice, since we were without a car. We stuck on the beach (the guy was trying to nice and towed us out, wrecked the drive on mys sisters car and we where stuck in Ocean shores. Our uncle came to give us ride to we could get home.)If we go back the ocean we will probably end staying here. Overall very happy with hotel and the staff, Everyone who works here are very caring and nice.

Room Tip: The whole hotel is great. You can't go with staying here. They also have a game room and park fo...

First off, we drove 3 hours to Pacific Beach the night of Aug 14 thinking we had a reservation at one of the local hotels. We got there and said that we have no reservation and that they had booked it a week later. The man at that hotel was rude and didn't even help us find another place to stay at 1130 at night in the middle of nowhere. Thank goodness me and my family travel alot and knew about Ocean Shores. We called the Polynesian and thankfully they had a room available and accepted pets. The lady who answered the phone was very nice and got us in no problem. We got a 1 bedroom unit on the second floor which was beautiful! It had 2 queen beds in the room and a queen sofa sleeper in the living room, a full kitchen with everything in it, dining area and balcony. They do have a daily complimentary continental breakfast with cereals, juices, coffee, tea, pastries, and waffles. They also have an indoor pool, video arcade, pool table, and pet area. I've always been told that things happen for a reason. Well, I know that to be true since we weren't supposed to stay at that hotel in Pacific Beach. We were led to this place which was the better choice! Glad we were routed here instead. Would definetly stay here again! :)
