“Delicious chowder and great coconut shrimp”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2012

We enjoyed our meal and the friendly service. Shrimp was very tender and fresh served with the chef's own recipe of a slightly sweet and sour sauce. Prices were quite reasonable. Several seafood dishes as well as steak and prime rib. An extensive menu.

“Yikes! What happened here?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

We've always enjoyed Mariah's but this year, instead of 2 visits during our vacation, we made only one! The server was scattered, the busboy was wonderful however. He should be the server or a host! Where to begin...ok the shrimp appetizer was palatable, but our son's fettuccini alfredo with prawns had a lot of hair in it! I was missing a fork for the first 10 minutes after we were served, until the busboy caught that our server forgot my fork. She also forgot to bring the bread and other things that we know are part of their usual service. Our new york steaks were grey and unappetizing, the mushrooms were from a can and they were sickeningly sweet. The carrots were overcooked, and covered in sugar, and the mashed potatoes were drowned in some kind of hideous country gravy. I've never seen that before and hope to never see it again.

The baked potato was served with a single dollup of margerine. When I asked about sour cream and chives, the waitress said "that's all in there" which was definately not the case. All we can say is EW, and we won't be back. To top it off, the bathrooms were about 20 degrees hotter than the restaurant, very odd. This place has gone down hill significantly. There were just a handfull of diners in the restaurant. THey need the restaurant Impossible guy to come through and shake things down! Woah!

“Go here for pizza!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

We didn't get our pizza here but we got the scallops and seafood fettuccine and it was awesome. I am sure their pizza would have been WAY better than Dughan's Pizza. We ordered take out so I can't say anything about the seating or service.

“One of Ocean Shores best bets”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012

We popped in for a light dinner right at closing and were pleased to find a light fare portion of the menu. We opted for the Petite Grille Halibut or Salmon.

The meal started with a yummy warmed herb roll, and continued with a dinner salad that rose above the chopped iceberg with an unripe tomato wedge. We both chose the salmon, which was a nice portion for a light supper. Weary of so much fried food prevalent in Ocean Shores, it was nice to be able to get a decent baked potato as starch. Rounding out the meal was a scoop of perfectly prepared broccoli.

A tad bit on the over-cooked side, the salmon was fresh and well seasoned. I'll take a fresh piece of fish a bit overcooked over a well prepared piece of old seafood.

Never feeling rushed, we left Mariah's feeling satisfied and pleased with the service, as I'm sure the other two parties who arrived AFTER we did as well. Mariah's is a bright spot in Ocean Shores, where service tends to be an afterthought.
