“Breathtakingly Gorgeous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Deception Pass State Park is a vast beautiful landscape with hills, lush forests, and pristine clear waters. About a 3 hour drive from Seattle, Deception Pass is an awesome weekend getaway. There's a bridge that you can walk over and take in the beautiful panoramic views of the beach and cliffs below. Once you hike down towards the beaches, there's boat rides you can take into the Pacific ocean. Orcas and seals and Bald Eagles welcome you at Deception Pass. Wondrous place to spend a weekend.

“Worst camping experience my family has ever had”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Deception Pass is located in a beautiful location: it is so sad that the air base is right overhead!! I'm not sure if we stayed there at an unusually loud time (end of June 2013) but we had fighter jets going overhead at 2 minute intervalls all day and did not stop until 4 a.m. I've camped by air bases before (Jupiter Springs, FL) but never experienced anything like this. It was ear-shattering and actually shook the camper. Babies were crying nearby and dogs barking because of the awful noise. We had to buy ear plugs in town and still no one could sleep. We left the park after one night and will never ever ever return.

“Breathtaking”

Great place to spend a day - go back when tides are at different stages and walk the bridge. We liked the North Beach rather than the West Beach.

“Nice forest trails and beautiful beaches and views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

We took the north beach trail through the rainforest and the trail up under the Deception Pass Bridge. The beach is a short, worthwhile and beautiful walk from the parking lot . You end up just below the famous bridge and can watch the local fishermen in boats and on the beach. The views are great. The trail to the bridge is quite steep and it's difficult to see much through the forest. There's a free parking area on the south end of the bridge that's more convenient for walking out on the bridge itself.

“Nice trails, lovely views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

I took the trail from the north beach parking lot up to the summit (Goose Rock trail I think - I had no idea it was going to go so uphill, but it was worth it!), then took the trail down to the beach. Nice trails and lovely views. Definitely a bit of a climb!
