“Mother/daughter getaway week-end at the Spa”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2014

The grounds are beautiful, our room over looking the water features and lovely garden was very relaxing, large balcony, clean room, comfy bed. Maybe would opt out of the bath and wrap, since the pool and hot tub are also mineral water, but "definitely would" have the other spa treatments again, massage, facial, pedicure and manicure. We stayed Friday night through Sunday morning and still didn't have enough time to take advantage of all the things the resort has to offer, miniature golf, hiking, time spent in front of the beautiful fireplace etc… The bathrobes to use coming and going from the spa and pool was a nice touch. Flew into Portland from snowy Minnesota so had dinner Friday night in the city before arriving and we took a drive up the Columbia River on the Washington & Oregon sides,(absolutely beautiful) and had scheduled our spa treatments to accommodate our road trip on Saturday, so never did have dinner in the restaurant but the two breakfasts were very good. Next trip we'll stay put and take advantage of the bar and restaurant. Very do-able drive from the PDX airport, plan on hopefully making this an annual Mother/daughter get-away.

Room Tip: Be prepared to be serenaded all night by the frogs which can be heard every where through-out the ho...

The spa services and staff are all amazing. Dinner was delicious. The only thing I wish different was the way the packaged was presented to me on the phone. I spent $300 more than I was expecting due to the mis-information given to me at reservation time.

Room Tip: For a couples retreat it was well worth the extra money for the hot tub room!

We (a younger gay couple) had the most relaxing time! The pool, sauna and hot tubs were very clean and had a nice ambiance. Even with a majority of the patrons being day use only, the overall atmosphere was one of rest/relaxation. After 9pm when the day use people had to pack it up it became a near silent sanctuary of healing, it was marvelous!

We enjoyed a meal in the main dinning room and had the most attentive, friendly service. The food itself was extraordinary! We had the cheese plate, pecan crusted salmon, diver scallops and a glass of wine each. This was was by far the best bang for your buck (we love a good meal though).

The room itself would have to be the low light or our stay. It was very dated with heavy, poorly patterned drapes and the lighting was somewhat poor/dull. The bedding was also dated and the large comforter was lumpy (possible from one too many washes), but the mattress itself was plenty comfortable. The upside-It was quite and clean and the patio view onto the courtyard was beautiful.

After our first restful night we indulged in some of what the spa had to offer each getting the "day at the spa" package. This included the mineral bath and body wrap with pedicure and manicures (a luxurious 4 hours for only $125 each). Our bath attendant was kind and efficient and did not seem put off by the fact we were a gay male couple. The soaking tubs were also very clean and relaxing. Following our wraps we headed to the nail room where we enjoyed side by side pedicures. The nail tech was fantastic! She was friendly and warm and knew how to turn clipping and cutting and scrubbing into a relaxing experience. Highly recommend the nail services!

To summarize:
The Pros- the food, outdoor hot tub, clean and friendly spa
The Cons-the hotel room itself (for the cost especially) and there is no check in early at all.

We would considering staying again if the room rates came down a little or there was some serious updating/modernization. We plan to go back again soon for another spa treatment and a meal though!

Room Tip: Get a deal on the room or just go for the day/spa services.

We usually go to Harrison Hot Springs but they were all booked up over X-mas so decided to check out this place. It's not as nice as Harrison's and doesn't have the variety of soaking pools, but it was nice. Reading the reviews from others, I think it helped that we went over X-mas, as there were not many people in the hotel so service was good, food was good and wait staff was helpful and very accommodating of my food intolerances. There were times we had the pool all to ourselves. I liked having the Jacuzzi in our balcony, though it was more spendy, it was a small splurge. I would go back, but if we do we'll make sure to go over the holidays again, when it's not crowded.

Room Tip: Our room faced the parking lot and it was quiet, but then again, the hotel was not busy.

Went to Bonneville for a Romantic weekend, There were two people at the Spa one was some what helpful the other would have been better off being a computer, They were not very organized at all told to go back and meet a specific person at the bath area that person was not there another the person who did show up was nice but you could tell they were frazzled by lack of communication. When we went to dinner the food was OK but you will pay Portland dinner prices for something that is quit a bit less in quality. The room was OK, the wine they give you is supper cheap the chocolate was OK. Breakfast the next day was the worst breakfast I have ever had but again you will pay like you are at a very nice restaurant. Asked for my eggs over easy they were well done the potatoes were frozen and had to have been sitting in the kitchen since the cook arrived at the start of their shift. When we were asked how was everything my wife said not so good. The waitress replied sorry and never asked what was the issue. If you need the appearance of a nice resort spa find another one. To sum it up over priced poor service at best. This place lacks training on service, and you would do well to avoid it. Which is really a shame as they have the opportunity to have a real special place.

Room Tip: Also no fitness center? at a spa? Stay away until you see better reviews consistently It looks like...

Arrived at Bonneville for a romantic escape for VDay. The room was outdated, burnt out light in the bathroom, toilet seat was not screwed in place, paint chips on the wall where furniture rubs etc. The bed was TERRIBLE. Felt like the mattress had never been replaced. The only redeeming thing about the room was the hot tub on the deck. However, for 299/night plus tax I was expecting much more "RESORT" and much less "MOTEL6" We ate dinner in the lounge and had to listen to the wait staff gossip and gripe about how busy it was and what local was doing whom. It was very unprofessional. Took us 30 minutes to get a diet soda and a vodka 7UP. Staffing was not professional at all, our server stunk like cigarette smoke. After a terrible nights sleep, visited the SPA and had an AMAZING massage. I would recommend to everyone- do not waste your money staying the night here. Come up for a massage/day trip and go home. This is NOT A RESORT by any stretch of the imagination. What a waste of money.

My husband and I have been here a couple times in the past, but it had been a while. We went for massages as a late Valentines Day present, and I don't think we'll be back any time soon. The massages were nice and relaxing, however the overall service was just odd. Every other spa we've ever been to offers you robes, towels, a locker room to undress in, etc - we were given none of this, just changed in the massage room itself and changed back and were sent on our way. We had to ask to use the pool and hot tubs, and for a towel and robe and access to the locker rooms to change. It was apparently so busy that they had no lockers in the spa locker room, so we used the public ones down the hall. That was fine, but not exactly the spa experience I had imagined when booking $120 massages. The pool and hot tub area was nice and we had a good soak and swim. Overall it was fine, but I can get a great massage in Portland for $80, and if I'm paying an extra $40 I expect there's something about the experience that makes it extra-special. This wasn't.
