When we moved to the area more than a decade ago, someone said there was a restaurant with Chinese food as good as any place in the Seattle International District. We doubted it could be true, but our first taste told us we'd found a real gem in the suburbs. When we saw items from the Chinese menu being delivered to tables full of Chinese families we learned fast what they were and began ordering those items regularly as well. Whole fish, spicy tofu, and much more. Yum. Now their web site gives non-Chinese speakers a break by showing photos of the food next to the Chinese names. I'll be printing a few and taking them to the restaurant soon.
Notes: We rarely eat at the restaurant any more because the decor is depressing. Clean but so 1980s. We could overcome that if the lighting wasn't so harsh. If you do eat in, be prepared to wait. This place is hugely popular. Take out works best for us. The restaurant is closed on Mondays, which seems like the perfect day for takeout to me but, the staff has to rest some time. Staff is always very fast and friendly. Be aware that the weekday cooks are very good but they seem to be a notch below the talented weekend chefs.
