“The Real Deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2012

Great new place. The brisket and ribs were great, good smoke, well seasoned, very tender but not falling apart. The fries were a great side, perfectly done and great seasoning. Small, well decorated place. Went on a Friday night, all tables were taken, sat at the bar and before our drinks were ready, a table opened and we got it. Throughout dinner, there was a constant line.

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2012

I'll travel a long distance to experience good barbeque food, and so keenly drove up to this restaurant's new Mountlake Terrace location, only to find that they were out of ribs!

What sort of barbeque restaurant runs out of ribs at lunchtime on a Sunday? 'Oh, we've been very busy for the last few days' was the excuse - an excuse that actually damned them more than excused them, as clearly they'd had several days of notice to cook up some more and had yet to do so.

Strangely, the place servings, while giving you a fork and spoon, don't give you a knife. Very peculiar.

The BBQ sauce - I asked for their traditional type - was most unusual. I continue to think I must have been given the wrong sort, but the server and one of the owners both insisted that the yellowy orange substance was indeed their version of traditional bbq sauce. It sure didn't taste anything like you'd buy in a bottle in a supermarket, and alas, the differences weren't all good!

The beef brisket and pulled pork were okay. But - no ribs????

They seemed to have a nice range of six micro brew beers as well, but as it was only lunchtime, I passed on the chance to sample them.

Great Q. The smoked prime rib is worth the trip. Meat is perfect. The variety of sauces are unique. The sides are good too.
