“Liked this hotel very much”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

The hotel rooms in the entire Mount Vernon/Burlington area were almost fully booked - we took the last room available at the Best Western. Check-in was efficient and very pleasant - the front desk clerk even took the time to offer us a discount with our BCAA membership.

The room was a handicapped room with a king bed and walk-in shower and no bathtub. We were fine with that and the room was very clean and spacious. Neither my husband or I are handicapped so we can't comment on the handicapped amenities. The bed was very comfortable with good quality linens and we slept well. There was a fridge, microwave oven and TV in the room so we had everything we needed.

A hot breakfast was served in the morning - scrambled eggs, ham, potatoes, waffles as well as cold cereals, muffins, etc. The staff worked hard to keep the food fresh and hot and they were very pleasant at the same time.

Checking out was pleasant and efficient and then my husband took our bags to our car andI discovered that it had a flat tire. I charged back to the hotel front desk where the young lady on duty kindly called AAA to confirm that they honoured my BCAA membership. The front desk staff were so helpful and reassuring up to the time when AAA arrived. We really appreciated their assistance with this situation.

We were really treated well and the staff are a credit to this hotel and should be commended.

Stayed here so I could catch an early morning ferry so it was a check in and check out with not much time to take advantage of this facility. I think I will come back when I have more time. The staff was great and the room was perfect

great stay with daughter & grandson for back to school stuff! very convenient location and nice to have the pool to relax in after a day at the mall! Will definitely book here again! It was great to have the fridge /freezer and microwave for snacks with a young one.

Nice hotel very clean and well maintained and the room was very spacious. Breakfast in morning was great. Front desk staff also very pleasant and welcoming. My only complaint with this hotel is that to get to the outdoor pool you had to walk through the front lobby across the main driveway into another building which it is alongside. This however is a minor issue.

We recently stayed here with a family group where we rented 4 rooms. We all agreed the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The hotel is a little older then some which is probably why there is a washing machine next to the elevator on the 2nd floor. There was some remodeling going on in room off the lobby while we were there so hopefully that will be over soon. The breakfast was served in a room in the separate convention center part of the hotel across from the front door. The breakfast food was of average quality and it was the usual eggs, make your own waffles, etc. The only issue we had with the breakfast was with an employee working there who was not very helpful when we asked for assistance. Possibly she is the same worker another reviewer complained about.
We would recommend this hotel as a comfortable and good place to stay for a night or two while traveling through the area.

Room Tip: Rooms on the north side face the outside pool/spa which may be crowded in the summer

After I got past the exterior and lobby, I was very pleasantly surprised by my room. It was clean and spacious, had a microwave and large-ish refrigerator, plus lots of counter space. Wi-fi was free and easy to access, a great plus for me. Bed was very comfortable. I had a wonderful stay until the family upstairs got up in the morning. It sounded like a herd of elephants was tromping around overhead, for a good hour, and of course before I wanted to get up. Up until that point, I would have recommended this hotel without hesitation. Now I say go there, but only if you can be sure to have top floor room.
