I ended up visiting this restaurant by a totally unforeseen fluke. My intent was to go out and pick up some good restaurant sushi in the mid afternoon and bring it home to consume later that evening. I've been to the more well renowned competition down the street in the Safeway shopping center a few times for dinner. That restaurant I felt rocked pretty hard for a sushi joint out in the burbs. But, I was to come to find out that they close between 2:00 and 5:00 PM. I was in the area at 3:00 PM and wasn't about to wait 2 hours for them to open. I noticed this "Sushi Spott" out of the corner of my eye on the way to the other restaurant and with them being closed, I thought why not give this place a try since they were open. I knew it had to be better than supermarket sushi which I thought I might be ending up with.
The first thing I noticed upon walking in was a hand printed sign announcing that they had "fresh uni today" I LOVE uni and for it to be truly good, it indeed needs to be as fresh as possible. I went on to learn that they had just got it in that day. Needless to say that was a part of my order (2 servings both for me!...). To that I added an assortment of Sashimi and Nigiri. Bottom line here, once I got it all home and it was dinner time, I pulled it all out of the fridge began devouring it all and found myself in sushi/sashimi heaven! I was totally blown away and amazed by how everything was so fresh and just bursted with flavor. I have had some good sushi in my life before on several occasion, including a TripAdvisor favorite by the name of Mitch's in Honolulu. But, this rivaled any and all I've ever had before. Quite possibly the best I've ever had!
Their prices are moderate and competitive with the joint down the street. Actually, a bit cheaper as my sashimi selection came from their discounted lunch menu. In any case, I was quite stuffed once all was said and done at the tune of just $60.00. I have definitely paid more for less quantity and especially quality. That other place rocks, but this place REALLY rocks!
Though I ordered out, the environment seemed very pleasant. It's a quaint little place with a warm neighborhood feel. The staff was very friendly, helpful and polite.
