This restaurant is excellent! The food, the portions, and waitstaff are all superb! The only thing that isn't to die for is the location. It took me awhile and a few tries to find it but I'm happy I persevered!! Cristiano's is located in a small mall located to the right of the Safeway grocery store - cannot see it from State Avenue (it's located near the corner of State and Grace - turn right onto Grace and it'll be on the left hand side).
Once at Cristiano's there were 2 couples ahead of me. It's always a great sign when I asked one couple what they recommend...they said EVERYTHING on the menu is excellent. They were not kidding! I followed other Tripadvisors' suggestions and tried the tomato basil soup. DEVINE!! Actually, I would say it's more of a bisque since it was thick and rich! Try the soup! OH...and it comes with a homemade garlic bread stick.
When I ordered I didn't realize the portion size...so in addition to the soup I ordered the Pizza and Salad combination for $9.50 (you get a 9" pizza and a HUGE salad). You can order any specialty pizza (or create your own) and one of their salads. I had the Works Pizza (salami, candian bacon, pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and black olives) with the Cranberry Mimosa Salad (leaf lettuce & mixed greens, tons of pistachios, dried cranberries, one tomato cut in quarters, gorgonzola cheese, and their signature cranberry mimosa dressing). If this doesn't have your mouth watering nothing will!!
After I had the soup and half the salad I was full. So word to all of you...go super hungry or have a buddy with you, or get ready for a to go box of food. I did have a quarter of the pizza at the restaurant...and it did not disappoint. :o) I was too stuffed to try the homemade New York Style Cheesecake but the table beside me LOVED theirs.
Everything is great here...you and your tastebuds will be happy you did!!
