“Prices keep going up!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We used to go here fairly often, as the food is decent and it is convenient. However, their prices have kept going up until it is the most expensive sushi belt place around. We just revisited as we were already there and just needed a quick dinner; we were surprised to see that prices have gone up again since the last time we were there. Plates now run $2.50 per plate (for a simple avocado or cucumber roll) and range up to $6.00 per plate. The average plate was $4.75. As the portions on each plate at a belt sushi plate are fairly small, it's very easy to end up at $20+ per person, which is pretty expensive for a casual, quick service meal. For a better bet, drive the two blocks and try Sushiland, or try Tengu in Northgate.

“convenient, but average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

Recent shopping trip with family to Seattle required us to go to the REI before 9:00 p.m. at Lynnwood. This Japanese restaurant is conveniently located in the mall, and has conveyor belt with differnt types of sushi, and limited order off menu for light warm food. It was getting late, so not during their rush hour. Selection was average and price was relatively high for quality of sushi and food. Probably better value choices nearby, but with the convenience factor, it did the job.

“More Like 2.5 Stars”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

I wouldn't go so far as to categorize the food or service as poor but still think that they're a little below average. When we first tried Blue C a few years ago we found the food and prices to be reasonable. Obviously you're paying for the shtick of having the sushi travel around on the conveyor belt but it was a convenient, easy dining option at Alderwood Mall. We would come to the restaurant maybe twice a year but found, over time, that the quality and portion sizes kept decreasing while the prices continued to go up.

Today, you can expect over-priced sushi that is bland and mediocre at best. You would do better to go elsewhere. I know that we will.

“great food but..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

Great fresh sushi but the customer service isn't the best. Since the sushi is on a rotating belt, you only need a waiter for drinks. But they act like you're a major inconvenience if you need a refill or want a different drink. The prices are great too just wish the servers were nice.

“Overpriced, gimmicky”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

pros: sushi is large, attractively presented, well-labeled, good for a beginner
cons: over-priced, not authentic
tip: Sushiland is busier with slightly smaller pieces, but half the price, better selection, and consistently excellent and authentic
