“Great Hotel with a Great Breakfast!”

I stayed overnight at the Embassy Suites in Lynnwood for a conference I was attending there the next day. The hotel appears quite new with a beautifully appointed suite, nice bathroom, sitting room and comfy beds. The room appeared quite clean and tidy. That evening, I enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub; the sauna was under repair however. Next door to the pool was a fitness center with multiple treadmills, stationary bikes, free weights, medicine balls and a large, flat screen tv to help entertain while working out.

The next morning I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, and not just your typical serve yourself fruit and pastries variety breakfast. You could order pancakes (plain or coconut) cooked in front of your eyes, as well as eggs cooked to your liking, an omelet made to your liking and hot hashbrowns and bacon. They also offered, in a serve yourself fashion, bowls of fruit, yougurt cups, pastries, cereal, hot coffee, tea, chocolate, and fresh juice.

When I made my reservations on line, the best rate I could get was paying for the reservation immediately. It's not an inexpensive hotel - rates ran (with tax) between $170-200+ dollars per night. However, with the nice facilities, the wonderful made to order breakfast, a family of 3-4 could easily justify the room rate by not having to pay for made to order breakfast, the next morning, at some nearby restaurant.

I was totally impressed and would most definately consider staying at this Embassy Suites hotel again.

I would recommend the Embassy Suites hotel to anyone. In fact, when I hear from friends that they are going to go on vacation, that is the first hotel I recommend. The rooms are lovely and spacious. Everything is clean and like new.
The hot breakfast in the morning is the best!!!! Most hotels nowadays do not offer hot breakfasts anymore. Not only does this hotel offer a hot breakfast, but it also lets you build your own omelette! There are a bunch of fillings to choose from and then you just hand your little plate to the omelette chef and it's made for you right before your eyes! If you are not an omelette person, there are other hot breakfast choices for you too: eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns.. and of course, they have the pastries, fruit, yogurt, etc..
To make a long story short, this is a great hotel and it comes highly recommended.

Stayed at the Embassy Suites Lynnwood for 2 nights, the best way to write a review on this hotel is to grade it.

Front Desk, Grade A+
Checked in at 7 PM, there was no line up and no wait, the person that helped me was polite, friendly, and helpful. I talked to them several times during my stay, and each time they were always smiling, and extremely polite. Phoned the front desk the first night for extra towels, and within 10 minutes someone came to my door with them.

Breakfast, Grade A
During Saturday, and Sunday morning, breakfast is served till 10:30 AM, and the buffet section is opened. With the open buffet, you can get pancakes, French toast, hash browns, eggs, sausage, and bacon. You can also line up for a freshly made omelette (with or without cheese), topping choice are: ham, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, green pepper, jalapeno, and 2 more toppings (they had 8, can’t remember the other 2). Beverage: Coffee, tea, Cranberry juice, orange juice, apple juice, 2% milk, and Coca cola pop product (Coke, Sprite, etc). Cereal : Raisin Brand, Rice Krispies, Cheerios, and Fruit Loops. During the weekdays, breakfast is served till 9AM, and the buffet is closed, so there is only one line up; for your omelette and the items at the buffet. They serve the same thing as mentioned above minus the pancakes.

Room Grade A
The room is very nice, and I concur with all the positive post about how nice the rooms are.

Housecleaning Grade C+

On Sunday morning, my family and I left the room at 9:30 AM, and returned to our room at 4:30 PM and our room has not been cleaned yet. The next morning (check out date), at 9:00 AM, housecleaning knocks on my door to ask when we’re checking out, check out isn’t till 12 noon, to me this was totally unprofessional, what if I wanted to sleep in or something like that. Besides that, the room was cleaned without any complaints

Internet Grade C-

Internet cost $5 per 24 hours, or $25 for a week. Most laptop today comes with a built in wireless network card, just make sure it works. While the high speed internet is a lot faster than a modem line, to me it’s pretty slow. I did 8 tests through out my stay, at variable time (ranging from 12 midnight, 6 AM, 8PM) using speakeasy.org for an unbiased results; each time the results were pretty close the same, about 500kbps for both upload and download; or 63 KB/s. For simple e-mail and web surfing the high speed internet will do fine, if you plan on receiving large attachments, or need to download large files, you better go get a cup of coffee. With the data port in the room, forget it. It’s buried beside the sofa in the room, and the connection is a lot worst, download was coming in at only 20 KB/s (3 times slower), and yes, my wireless network card was disable at the time. BTW the LAN card connected at only 10 MB. One thing I should mention is the wireless signal strength, at the hotel was very good, so good that the meter was full. Overall the internet service itself is very reliable, and the only reason for the low marks is the speed of the internet.

Swimming Pool Grade D

The Swimming pool grade would be an F, but the swimming pool area is very nice, only if you can use it. What I’m told, most Fridays and Saturdays night, the swimming pool is crowded with out of control kids. How bad? The Saturday night I stayed, there were OVER 25 kids (close to 30) in the swimming pool and spa; so crowded that it was close to standing room only, and with the window of room that was available in the swimming pool, kids were diving in that area, splashing water onto everyone, being an indoor pool, the screaming of the kids would echo, which made the noise louder than a rock concert. By Sunday morning, the spa was out of order (wonder why). The day I was there, the swimming pool water was cold; the engineer at the hotel told me that the water was 82 degrees, I asked him to put his hand into the pool and tell me that feels like 82 degrees; he refused. Only after I told him that 2 water outtake at the bottom of the pool (5 Feet area) was shooting out ice cold water, that he finally did something to fix the problem. If swimming is important on your list, I highly suggest you call the hotel first to make sure there is no soccer convention, or anything with a lot of kids involved; or stay during the weekdays, and not the weekend.

Fitness Room: Grade N/A

Didn’t use the fitness room, it has a large LCD/Plasma TV while your do free weights. A couple of treadmills, and 2 Elliptical machines. Very quite, and is open 24 hours for guests over 18; pretty sure this will please all that requires a fitness room.

Manager reception Grade: N/A
Did not try the reception between 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, they served Miller lite, and Henry (never heard of “Henry” but that is what the bartender told me), white wine, and red wine, plus they opened the beverage section (as listed in the breakfast section). Snacks: I might be missing something, but this is what I saw, Veggie dip, Nacho with salsa, and Snack mix.

“if youi don't have to be downtown, worth the stay”

Embassy Suites Hotel Seattle North / Lynnwood

This hotel was a pleasant surprise. I had read some of the reviews which seemed to give this hotel an average rating but would say the contrary.

I’ve stayed in Seattle area many times over the past 4yrs, & would say this is one of the better Hilton properties in the area. Hilton Downtown is very dated with a tiny reception area. The Doubletree near SEA okay, have to pay for parking & is in real need for an upgrade/renovation. The only other Hilton property I’d recommend is the Hilton across from SEA, very friendly staff & best bartender in Seattle.

This property had been newly renovated & is by far the nicest Embassy Suites I’ve stayed in yet – have stayed in many across the US! Sure the location doesn’t provide a “Bay View” & the traffic into Seattle 1st thing in the morning is terrible, but if the aforementioned aren’t musts, then this is a good property.

As I said, the room was newly renovated, new carpet, furniture & bathroom. The dining area on the main level is one of the largest I’ve seen with any Hilton property & all of the staff were very friendly/professional.

If you can get a good rate, don’t need to be in Seattle 1st thing, & are okay with being a little of the beaten track, the Embassy Suites – Lynnwood won’t put you wrong!

Stayed at the Embassy Suites Lynnwood for one night November 10, 2007. This hotel is a solid 3+ star property. It has recently been through renovations and the upgrade shows.

Check in took a bit longer than desired, but once to the front of the line (three people working) the check in process was flawless. We requested a room on a high floor away from the elevators. We were given a room on the 5th floor (top floor, only five story property) but it was located directly across from the elevator right next to the Presidential Suite. We chose not to pick this fight, and felt we would be fine for a night. I will tell you that the room noise from the front sitting room was more than I enjoy, but that was due to the location of the elevator. I would certainly request a room down the hall the next time around.

The room was clean and smelled of fresh paint, carpet and new furniture. It was nice to stay in a property that was so updated. The front room had lounge chair, love seat, 27 inch regular TV and desk work station. In between the two rooms was a wet bar, with fridge , and coffee maker. Bathroom was modern but small. Small tub with good shower, typical for Hilton properties.

The bedroom was large and functional. Large comfortable King bed, lounge chair with small table, big night stands and large dresser that held the 32 inch tv. (no HD here).

All in all the room was in great shape. My assumption is that all room looked pretty similar.

Our room was located right next to the presidential suite, which unfotunatly for us was housing I think ten 12 year old girls for a sleep over. Although once back in the bed room we could not hear them, they were quite loud when sitting in the front room. The door to the hallway had about a two inch gap at the bottom, so any noise from the hall came in easily.

We attended the evening reception (with the rest of the hotel) at 5:30. It was busy and the line was long. only one bartender slowed the process down..but a complimentary drink, is a complimentary drink. We also came down for the morning "cooked to order" breakfast. What a great omlette. There also was a buffett line with the usual (pancakes, sausage, bacon, etc..)...I would remind you to show up early for the breakfast times, as the rush seems to come after 9 am or so. we waited 30 minutes to get our omlette, but we chose to sleep in rather than get up at 7:30 for the short lines.

We did not go to the pool or health club, but appreciated that it stayed open until 2 am for adults (10pm-2am adults only). They have a nice resteraunt and bar on property. This hotel is also very convenient for those that plan on doing significant shopping. It is about a mile and half away from Alderwood Mall and 6 miles North of Northgate Mall. Check out was easy wtih express check out on the TV. All in all this was a very servicable property.

Not sure I would stay here again for a night away from the kids (which was what we were doing) but it was close to our home. If romance is your thing, I would drive into downtown Seattle and do something at a property downtown.
