Stayed at the Embassy Suites Lynnwood for one night November 10, 2007. This hotel is a solid 3+ star property. It has recently been through renovations and the upgrade shows.
Check in took a bit longer than desired, but once to the front of the line (three people working) the check in process was flawless. We requested a room on a high floor away from the elevators. We were given a room on the 5th floor (top floor, only five story property) but it was located directly across from the elevator right next to the Presidential Suite. We chose not to pick this fight, and felt we would be fine for a night. I will tell you that the room noise from the front sitting room was more than I enjoy, but that was due to the location of the elevator. I would certainly request a room down the hall the next time around.
The room was clean and smelled of fresh paint, carpet and new furniture. It was nice to stay in a property that was so updated. The front room had lounge chair, love seat, 27 inch regular TV and desk work station. In between the two rooms was a wet bar, with fridge , and coffee maker. Bathroom was modern but small. Small tub with good shower, typical for Hilton properties.
The bedroom was large and functional. Large comfortable King bed, lounge chair with small table, big night stands and large dresser that held the 32 inch tv. (no HD here).
All in all the room was in great shape. My assumption is that all room looked pretty similar.
Our room was located right next to the presidential suite, which unfotunatly for us was housing I think ten 12 year old girls for a sleep over. Although once back in the bed room we could not hear them, they were quite loud when sitting in the front room. The door to the hallway had about a two inch gap at the bottom, so any noise from the hall came in easily.
We attended the evening reception (with the rest of the hotel) at 5:30. It was busy and the line was long. only one bartender slowed the process down..but a complimentary drink, is a complimentary drink. We also came down for the morning "cooked to order" breakfast. What a great omlette. There also was a buffett line with the usual (pancakes, sausage, bacon, etc..)...I would remind you to show up early for the breakfast times, as the rush seems to come after 9 am or so. we waited 30 minutes to get our omlette, but we chose to sleep in rather than get up at 7:30 for the short lines.
We did not go to the pool or health club, but appreciated that it stayed open until 2 am for adults (10pm-2am adults only). They have a nice resteraunt and bar on property. This hotel is also very convenient for those that plan on doing significant shopping. It is about a mile and half away from Alderwood Mall and 6 miles North of Northgate Mall. Check out was easy wtih express check out on the TV. All in all this was a very servicable property.
Not sure I would stay here again for a night away from the kids (which was what we were doing) but it was close to our home. If romance is your thing, I would drive into downtown Seattle and do something at a property downtown.
