We attended Lynden Fair on 17Aug2013 a Friday which was the best as sunny, 40 minutes at the U.S. & Canada Borders, fair not too crowded and close parking across from Lynden Fair Grounds. Cost for parking only 5,00 at the Lynden mall and a short 5 minute walk to the entrance gate. It is only 12.00 for adults and you get to go to the grandstands and see one hour of great entertainment. The line up was not too long a wait and lady was very pleasant. They will take either Canadian or United State cash or credit cards. We have attended from British Columbia, Canada for many years and get excited when this fair is on as we mostly enjoy the pony races and grand stand noon entertainment. This fair is geared for all ages and shows a heritage and many memories and entertainment for the youth, community, and everyone gets a education as so much is displayed ie.craft's, garden show, rodeo, plowing fields with horses, barrel horse races, much more with horses, old vehicles and many barns full of all kinds of live stock. I would say this fair has the best display for all ages and one almost has to come twice to see all the animals, and go to the mid-way circus entertainment, then there's the evening events starting at 7pm rodeo and very well known singers and entertainers monster trucks, for all the family.
We enjoy watching the different colored small ponies who love to race around barrels and at least 8 teams challenge each other and final is Saturday. Every one who you meet at food outlets, gates, exhibit barns are very cordial and willing to answer any questions. There is also booths for buying clothes to leather purses, sunglasses and other items at reasonable prices. The washrooms at kept very clean and I saw ladies even wiping down tables used for eating on. You just feel part of this community as I have grown up on farms, ranches and sure brings back the memories of learning to work hard and enjoying neighbours and friends at a fair. There is booth displays from the local sheriff's, police, customs and government people. The fair grounds are kept very clean and I have been to many fairs. Lynden citizens do a very great job all around and I would definitely recommend this fair over many others as just so many items, animals, birds, horses are displayed and is so good for education of any age. Since you also get entertainment for one hour with your entrance fee I feel very reasonable. This fair has a well maintained easy to follow events on their internet site.
