We made a trip to Lummi on a whim, and stumbled upon the Nettle Farm entirely by chance. What luck! Riley's farm is a little oasis and the bed and breakfast is everything we could have asked for. Riley supplied us with fantastically fresh eggs, bacon, bread, good strong coffee, and asparagus that put anything else we've had to utter shame. He encouraged us to take the goats for a walk (wish we'd taken him up on that) and was willing to share the bounty of his garden. We lounged on the secluded back deck with tea at breakfast, watched the deer in the woods nearby, biked around the island, and followed up on many of Riley's recommendations. We weren't ready to spring for a dinner at the Willows Inn, but Riley told us we'd be welcome there for a cocktail. It was a perfect evening. If you enjoy cooking, plan to bring some groceries from the mainland. The kitchen had everything we could have asked for--sharp knives, good utensils, and a beautiful stove. We'd recommend this spot to anyone.
