“Rustic Cabins”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

My husband & I stayed in cabin 107. When we booked we were looking for something with full kitchenette and affordable so we could stay more then 1 night. It was actually a very nice place!! I was amazed!! It had everything you in the kitchenette that you needed!! Room was very clean older cabin a few scratches here & there but overall not bad at all. Walk to the beach was about a mile there was a path (I called it the rifraf path for us staying in the older cheaper cabins) that was a nice walk. Beach was nice not a lot of people. A few times we went there was nobody on the beach. (Just wish cars were not allowed on beach!!) The staff was awesome!!! Let us check in early!! Next to Pacific Hwy and was kind of noisy at night but slept right through and a little out of Long Beach but if ever go back will stay at same place. The resort was very nice except for the Ridge Cottages. They were VERY old and kinda dumpy and in DESPERATE need of remodeling! There were many stairs leading up to them, so not ADA friendly at all. The bathroom was VERY small (so not okay for someone in a wheelchair). The staff were friendly, and the pool, weight room, ping pong room, and air-hockey room were very nice. My son and I had a lot of fun playing air-hockey! :-) I would stay again, just not in the cottages, reserve a townhouse...you'll be glad you did!

Room Tip: Don't book one of the Ridge Cottages, book one of the townhouses instead...you'll be SO glad...

Have stayed here over the years (including this year) and continue to be happy with the overall experience. The staff is incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating, the rooms are simple and very clean, and the location is nice and private. We also very much enjoy the amenities such as the hot tub and pool, the guest barbeque, and the coffee bar. Last year we brought our dog "Sandee" along with us and she was welcomed with open arms and loved exploring the property. One concern to address is that if you are a very private/quiet couple like us, and you experience a large group/family with many feet above your accommodations...however this could easily be avoided by either party staying in one of the townhouse units. Our family highly recommends creating memories here.

Room Tip: Recommend townhouses for large families, groups, or couples wanting a larger more private experience...

We have stayed in many places on the Long Beach peninsula, but this place is the best. Stayed in the newer, condo style accommodations. (The older units, closer to the road are less expensive and should not be compared).

For ocean views, a two level townhouse style, as in the 200 group, is terrific. For one level units, to enjoy the view, get an upper level unit.

Our unit was clean and well maintained. Two (& 1/2) bedrooms and bath and a half. Nice kitchen and deck. Wifi works, important to us. An easy stroll to the beach from these beachfront units. We plan to return!

We booked one of the older (1950s) cottages for our family of four based on the decent reviews. The resort offers these older cottages and newer, nicer townhouses (apts) closer to the beach. The cottages are right on the main Long Beach road and one can hear traffic zooming by at all hours. The cottage itself was frumpy. I tried to find its rustic charm but all I found was a sloped floor, bad carpet and mismatched everything. The bedding was clean and comfortable but it was warm during the day and there are no fans at all so was a little uncomfortable trying to fall asleep. There are plenty of amenities: indoor pool, tennis and basketball courts and a really beautiful walk through the dunes to the beach. The best thing about the resort was its overall location, away from the main town crowds, leaving us with a semi-secluded beach. I do not think I would stay here again though, without some updating.

We were expecting the typical beach-theme tired-looking place, but to our surprise, the furniture and décor were beautiful and classy. We spent 2 nights in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath unit and everything was very nice. The unit had a great floor plan. The beds were comfortable, and the bed linens great. The kitchen was large and well-equipped. The indoor pool was another very pleasant surprise. It is medium-large size and has women's and men's locker rooms, including showers and hair dryers. The pool water temperature was nice -- but just a few more degrees and it would have been heavenly! Pool toys are allowed, so our grandsons spent a lot of time in the pool. There are chairs, beach towels, and a Jacuzzi. The pool / exercise area also has free air hockey and ping pong. It's all very elegant and well-maintained. There is an outdoor basketball court, and an indoor tennis facility. The resort has a trail to the beach. The resort is located several miles from the main downtown area, so a car is necessary. We didn't know that you need to request maid service, so next time we will. The desk staff was pleasant with the exception of the younger woman who wasn't particularly friendly or helpful. Otherwise, we highly recommend this place.

We decided to take a weekend and go to the beach. We chose Lighthouse Oceanfront
Resort because they allowed my 2 small dogs. When we arrived we were welcomed
with blankets and dog treats for our doggies as well as with smiles for us. The condo like
unit was immaculate and the view was so beautiful. I did not want to leave. Thanks
for a wonderful stay. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Upstairs has the views.
