“Anniversary in Longbeach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

We were looking for somewhere to go for our anniversary and wanting to try something different we went to the Adrit hotel. However after making reservations and then reading the reviews which were all over the place, I was a bit concerned about the accommodations.
Well the bottom line is that this is not a four or five star hotel and not finished as such. Its more of what you might find in Europe. The staff was great the rooms were clean and all our needs were met. They offer free bikes, DVDs, board games and on our floor they even had a Foosball table and a tavern size shuffleboard table. Dogs are also allowed which is a must for us. With that in mind there are no rugs so you might want to bring a bed or small runner for your dog as the floor is slippery. The restaurant, I think its called the Pickled Fish was outstanding in every way.
We Had a great time there and would not hesitate to return.

We stayed in a room on the third floor in the "Inn" right on the beach. The room was very clean, quiet, tastefully decorated, had a nice fireplace and a spectacular unobstructed ocean view.
We walked over and had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant in the Adrift Hotel building.
I would stay here again!

Room Tip: We stayed in the separate "Inn" building right on the beach. Fantastic view!!!

The simplistic decor and repurposed materials used in decorating the rooms is fun and different. Adrift is a pet friendly hotel, which makes it convenient for traveling to the beach with the dog. The people above us (we were on the 2nd floor) were extremely loud and that coupled with the hard, memory foam beds, kept us from getting a good night sleep. They do serve great coffee in the lobby, the front desk staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, and the beach cruisers they loan out are a nice touch and perfect for exploring this beach town. Go try Pickled Fish, the restaurant and bar upstairs. Great food, drinks, and views!

Room Tip: I would go for a top floor room next time. I'm assuming it would be more quiet. Beach views ar...

I do commend the owners for their simplistic and sustainable approach. It does look chic and modern. It's trendy, like an 'upscale' youth hostel in an old prison I stayed at in Slovenia. However, being sleep dprived from the busy routine of living in Seattle, we came for a relaxing weekend getaway and some peace and quiet. If that's what you are looking for, this is NOT your place. The beds are rock hard, like futon mattresses and room felt hot and stuffy. At 7am we woke to what sounded like a bunch of elephants moving furniture in the room above us. Pillows over my head didn't tune it out. When I asked the front desk about it I was told there was nothing they could do without any real sympathy. The staff are nice, the place is clean. It'd be fine for a fun summer weekend with friends... But it's not the relaxing spa getaway we needed. We're so grateful we just invested in a Wydham vacation share so we can stay at the Worldmark Hotel across the street next time!

Room Tip: The front building, where the lobby and restaurant are is closest to the beach. We had a view of the...

We visited in February, and the weather wasn't good. Our room in the east building had a wonderful view of the beach and the surf, but no comfortable chair to sit in while enjoying it. That was really the only negative detail about our room. The bed was very comfortable. We appreciated the funky decor - wood crates, canning jars instead of drinking glasses, refillable containers of the toiletries, galvanized buckets and pails for wastebasket and ice bucket . Great coffee in the lobby, but we had to walk outside and around the corner to get to it. Service was very friendly. We stayed in a pet-friendly room, but had no pet, and felt like the room was super-clean. We liked the fact that we were just a few blocks off the Main Street. The attached restaurant was convenient and food there was good. We would have borrowed free bikes to ride the great paved trail just out front, but weather wasn't cooperative. We liked the recycling and conservation focus, and the high quality products they used and sold.

Room Tip: Rooms in the east building have a better view, but rooms in the west building are closer to the othe...

"Minimalist" Yes... it's trendy and cuts cost corners, BUT it doesn't sacrifice anything for all that (in my opinion) The bed was great, everything was clean. Essential Oil products were amazing (bought some to take home) the unlimited free coffee was the best we've ever had in our lives and the whole place made us (this frugal mama & her hubby) want to design their own hotel!! I always hate the way hotels obviously spend so much on art or furniture for no good reason. you're only there for such a short time normally... this place uses hand made crates for everything and it looks quaint and lovely! Bike rides on the beach.. or into town SO MUCH FUN (and we hadn't been on bikes in 10 years) We just LOVED LOVED LOVED our stay. Comfortable but simple.... the only con I can add is that if you NEED quiet, you should stay in the building the spa is in & not the main building. (or at least ask for a room that's not right above the entrance. It was a little noisy in the evening with people showing up late to the hotel, but had we not been RIGHT above the entrance this I'm sure would've been no problem. (and we didn't mind since we weren't there to get an early bedtime...) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Room Tip: if you want a quiet room choose one not above the main entrance...
