This place is awful, overpriced, and run by dishonest, rude people. My husband and I were looking for a one-night getaway from Seattle. We had never been to the Hood Canal and decided last minute to check it out. We couldn't find any cabins on short notice so decided to stay in the RV at Mike's Beach "Resort". We had never stayed in an RV, but thought it might be fun for a night and wanted to be near the water so my husband could fish. We were disappointed when we arrived and realized there was virtually no privacy. The RV was rundown inside and not very clean. The mattress was old and incredibly uncomfortable. We decided to make the best of it though. The woman offered a 5% discount for paying in cash, but at over $150 for one night, the price seemed unfair. We made dinner and tried to go to sleep. My husband is able to sleep easily no matter what, but I was extremely uncomfortable on the horrible mattress. I tossed and turned all night and only managed to fall asleep for a couple hours until at 8 am, we were rudely awoken by the owner knocking on the door. She explained that the road directly behind the RV was being paved, that the crew was here early and we had to move our car. She said her husband would move it for us. I was extremely annoyed but handed her the keys. There was no way I wanted to get up and move the car as tired as I was. We tried to go back to sleep but found it impossible due to the incredible noise right outside our bedroom window. At this point, we just decided to leave. I was extremely angry and decided it would only be fair for the owners to reimburse part of our payment. We packed up and went to the office to drop off the key, but no one was there. We were too tired and upset to try to find the owner and decided to just drop the key and try to get in touch with the woman when we got home. I sent the woman an email a few days later explaining nicely that I didn't feel the price we were charged was fair especially with the disturbances. She didn't understand what the problem was and barely offered an apology. I told her that my parents run a B&B and rent out a cottage... that they would never treat their guests the way we were treated. They would never wake people up to move cars for construction. She responded with an email full of complete lies... stating that she had warned us about the road being paved, that she had given us a 10% discount, that she had told us not to park the car where we had (we asked her where to park and parked exactly where she told us to), and that the crew didn't start work until noon. If that was the case, why did she wake us up at 8?! We weren't even there at 12. I told her that she was being dishonest, that I was going to write a bad review and make a complaint to the BBB. She responded by saying I was blackmailing her!!!! The woman is crazy, the place is gross, and it is extremely overpriced. Whatever you do, do not give these people your business!!!
