After 4 days with the extended family in Seattle, we needed a break (lol)! We couldn't have picked a more perfect place. From the warm welcome until our departure, the Run on the River met all our needs. We encountered a ferocious heat wave for our entire stay and the AC was 5 star fabulous. The breakfast was so over the top. We did not have to eat again until evening. We did white water rafting with Osprey, a great way to beat the heat. We can't wait to return to this wonderful B & B

Room Tip: All the suites are awesome. The Ravenswood cabin is spectacular with privacy, 2 hot tubs, a gourmet...

Went here in 1979 and back in 2012. Run by two retired educators. Everything you need or want. Icicle River runs behind it. Saw a bear, lots of deer, fox. The owners have everything you ever wanted. Take a bike for a spin, hike up to the top of the peaks, see a live show at the outdoor theatre, ( we saw Sound of Music), engage in the wineries. Great breakfast to get you off to a great start. Very relaxing.

Room Tip: All are great. Bo online to view the rooms.

This was our first experience with Run of the River, and we must say we were truly impressed! Our room ( Great Northwest) was spacious, and the wrap-a-round porch was great! The view from our room was lovely, and so much wildlife! Enjoyed watching the birds, ducks, deer and racoons. The gourmet breakfast each morning was awesome. So many little details that made the inn so unique. Jan & Steve and all the staff (can't forget to mention Fanny) made our stay a remarkable experience. Can't wait to come back.

We stayed for a week in the Ravenwood Lodge--the only accommodation that offered a full kitchen. (We usually stay at vacation rentals not B&Bs, because we do our own cooking.)There are spectacular hikes within a realitively short car ride. We felt pampered while we were here. Jan and Steve and staff were great hosts. This is a great retreat for nature-lovers. Fabulous views of the Cascades and Icicle Creek.

Room Tip: The Ravenwood Lodge--separate from the other building which had the other rooms--offered a great ful...

Run of the River Resort & Refuge was our first ever B & B style stay. It's really more of a small inn, and it is simply the best place we've ever stayed, anywhere! The grounds are on the bank a river and in view of soaring, forested peaks. Wildlife abounds in the adjacent bird sanctuary. The structure of the inn is all logs, pretty much inside and out. Each room is decorated differently but the overall theme is "log cabin antique" - old wooden skis, poles, bicycles etc. are featured. While the inn is a little ways from downtown Leavenworth it's only a five minute drive away from the little Bavarian style town. The owners/proprietors, Jan & Steve, are delightful and go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be. Food is excellent. And the mascot of all of it is a beautiful, large Bernese mountain dog named Fanny!

Absolutely amazing! I can't say much more. The property is stunning. It is tucked away between beautiful trees, sitting just along the shore of a gorgeous river. The views are spectacular, and the rooms and amenities equally amazing. We stayed in the Ravenwood - a lodge that is its own building. Two stories with full kitchen, living room, fireplace, multiple sofas, big screen TV, half bath, washer and dryer on the first floor, and a huge loft with rain shower, double sinks, soaking tub, big comfy bed, and TV. The huge patio has seating, a swing, grill, and hot tub. We were there to do our vow renewal, and had family in all the the rooms. It was like a reunion, so much fun! The breakfasts are to die for. Family style in the lobby, served 4 or 5 courses of amazing food. Jan (one f the owners) set up all of our in-town excursions. We didn't have to plan anything! I couldn't have asked for anything more. We are so lucky to have been able to stay at Run of the River, and we plan to go back whenever we can!

Room Tip: All of the rooms are beautiful, you can't go wrong!

My wife and I recently celebrated our 46th anniversary with a return visit to Run of The River. Over the years, we have stayed in several of the rooms and have always been extremely pleased with the accommodations. Each room has a Jacuzzi tub, huge shower, river rock fireplace, refrigerator, in room coffee, and many other amenities. Located on the edge of a nature preserve and overlooking the Icicle River with a scenic view of the nearby mountains, this place is the perfect spot to unwind and de-stress. The only things better than the accommodations are the owners. It doesn't matter if you've been there before or are a first timer. They treat everyone old friends and make sure you enjoy your visit. The home made breakfast is in a class with the rest of the inn, first class!

Room Tip: The Kingfisher is the largest of the rooms in the main lodge, but all the rooms are roomy and have a...
