“MHL review”

We loved the MHL. Brad and Kathy are amazing at running this fabulous place. We went there for our anniversary and got one of the lodges. The bed was amazing and the sheets were super soft. I loved soaking in the river rock jet tub with the fireplace blazing just across the room. The view was so amazing each morning and evening we would just be in awe. The food is also incredible!!!

To read a review can never truly express the totality of an experience. The Mountain Home Lodge creates an experience. From the rustic rooms to the ambiance of the shared common room with magnificent fireplace and breath-taking views, this place allows you to "just be". The owners and staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. The attention to the small details of a pleasurable stay seem foremost in their minds.

The view is spectacular. The food is spectacular. The amenities are excellent including a great hiking trail which includes being escorted by the friendly lodge dogs.

My only complaint was that the stay was not longer. It is a great experience.

First Class... is all I can say! Mountain Home Lodge is a hidden gem. Once you experience it you'll come back again and again. The views our something you'll never see anywhere else. The rooms/cabins are lodge chic, warm and impeccably clean. The owners you'll want as your best friends and the food you'll dream about and crave once you leave. I'd recommend it for a romantic stay or girl friend get away. It's in my top five locations to visit in the entire world!!!

Room Tip: Cabins are very private and romantic!

The Mountain Home Lodge is seriously an amazing place to visit. Waking up to see the gorgeous Cascade mountains, a beautiful meadow and the fresh clean air is an experience that I had never had before. The restaurant up at the lodge has incredible food and everyone who works there is incredibly helpful and friendly. I would definitely go there again and would recommend it to anyone who wants to take an amazing, relaxing vacation.

Room Tip: I stayed in one of their cabins and it was great! The showers are really nice and there is a spa ins...

I am not a bed and breakfast fan. However, I enjoyed our stay at Mountain Home Lodge because of the setting, the friendliness and helpfulness of the proprietors and staff, and the many little special extras throughout the facility. A good place for hiking out the door into the eastern Cascades.

We enjoyed our 2 nights in August at the lodge. It was a welcome relief from Leavenworth, a town we weren't fond of on its own. The remoteness of Mountain Home Lodge is wonderful, and the view from our suite is the one that's you see on their website. We enjoyed hiking from the lodge (accompanied by local dogs and a cat!), and we enjoyed the two dinners and two breakfasts at the lodge. Breakfast on the deck is hard to beat. The food was good, and dinner was reasonably priced.

Our room was comfortable and large. We booked the suite in order to get a king bed. The location of the suite makes it visible from the deck and the entry stairs, so leaving the blinds up (to see the view) means losing a bit of privacy. And the outdoor lights are left on all night (so returning guests don't injure themselves), which diminishes the ambiance a bit. To get a cross breeze into the room at night, there's a private deck door, but again, leaving that open does cut into privacy.

The beauty of the setting outweighs any of these concerns. Our hosts were very friendly and attentive. We would return.

Room Tip: Second floor view rooms are more private than the suite.

Thanks to a Sunset magazine article on the 10 best getaway retreats a few years ago, we took a chance since it was just over the Cascades from us. It has now become an annual retreat for us. The setting is nothing less than breathtakingly magnificent, with the noble grandeur of Icicle Ridge and Edward Peak framing the meadow that is often occupied by elk or bear. Behind the lodge are square miles of forest land, leading ultimately to Boundary Butte for the truly adventurous. The accommodations are as impeccable as they are comfortably cozy. From the cut flowers and the freshly decanted port awaiting your arrival to the truly world-class dining experience available to you, the clear focus of Mountain Home is your comfort and relaxation. (Please note that we have visited only in the non-snowing months.) Brad and Kathy have created a truly remarkable escape from the 'real' world and have assembled a staff who share their commitment to the comfort of their guests. This is one of the few locations on earth to connect with yourself, your loves and your values.

Room Tip: Talk to either Brad or Kathy about your desires.
