The service here is great. I had called at the beginning of January to inquire about a room, however there was no availability. After spending a while on the phone with Renee (one of the owners), I determined that none of the dates she had available would work with my schedule. I left her my phone number and she said she would inform me if they had an opening for the days I wanted. After we hung up, I didn't expect any call back (as that is usually the way of things). But to my surprise, a week later, she gave me a call to tell me that someone had canceled and that she wanted to give me the first chance to book it. I was very surprised as pretty much every weekend is booked. Needless to say, I was ecstatic and ended up taking her up on the offer and booked the Rosengarten room. I e-mailed her a couple times before I arrived and she responded very promptly.
The great thing about this place is that it is family run. Renee and Randy own it, Becky (Renee's sister) helps out and is very nice and accommodating. On one of the mornings, Renee's dad went out on the front lawn and played an Alphorn (authentic German long horns) while wearing authentic Bavarian clothing. It was great!
The setting is absolutely beautiful. I loved it because every other time i'd ever been to Leavenworth, we had always stayed in the main city. Abendblume is a little ways out of the main part of town (only a couple minutes' drive). The exterior is beautiful; it exuded an authentic Bavarian feel. The inside is magnificently designed with amazing ambiance that is created by little lights, gorgeous hand crafted wood, a white vaulted-esque ceiling (a little reminiscent of the cave houses so popular on the Greek islands), and a huge fireplace. It's even more impressive to find out that Renee and Randy (the owners) designed and built the whole B&B themselves!
The Rosengarten room has a four post bed with amazing. sheets, pillows, and comforters. The shower/tub is spacious, and there is a private balcony. I liked it because it was one of the relatively isolated rooms (with no other rooms on the other side of our wall).
The breakfasts here are to die for; don't miss them! The first morning Renee brought us out some of her warm, signature Aebleskiver (a unique danish pancake) with some homemade apple/cinnamon sauce to drizzle over them. They were so good! The second morning we helped ourselves to their delicious, warm bread pudding with their caramel sauce. Once again, amazing. They also have a good selection of fruit, bread, butter, meats, cheeses, etc.
I will most definitely stay here again!
