The mountain lodge alongside sophisticated art and sculpture creates a soothing effect on the atmosphere surrounding this wonderful cafe. It sets the stage and the food does not disappoint. The sandwiches were not big (I recommend ordering a whole sandwich unless you have a particularly small appetite), but they were absolutely delicious!! If you're looking for fast food prices you'll be disappointed, but for the high quality, freshness and variety of ingredients I was pleasantly surprised (about $7-9 for a sandwhich and salad combo).
My smoked turkey with brie and cranberry on lightly grilled croissant was a-ma-zing, and the kids' grilled cheese on sour dough was simple and seriously fantastic (meant to find out where where they get their sour dough bread, but it slipped my mind... next time :)). The Greek salad my husband had was unique and delicious (caper berries, large mild green olives, etc), and my cous cous salad, though very al dente, was also quite tasty. The service is casual (you pour your own beverages), but with some nice touches, like fresh mint sprigs from their garden.
Definitely a new favorite for Leavenworth!!!
