The first night we stayed in one of the King Suites, which is an upstairs room in one of the motel buildings. We had a nice view and the amenties were pretty good. There was a galley with the basic appliances. It was a good sized room with a balcony. However, I would rate the decor as average and looks a little worn. I believe the motel building is fairly new, about 3 years or so. I think after anohter season or two they will need to refresh these rooms or they are going to be a little on the shabby side.
The second night we stayed in one of the first floor rooms. The room was similar to the upper room but somewhat smaller. The screen door to the deck was bent and didn't function well and the bathroom floor (in the corners) was not clean. The carpeting was soiled at the entry and was worn. The furniture was worn on the edges. The bed was a queen and was fairly comfortable. However, when trying to go to bed, about 11 PM, it was difficult to get to sleep because of all the noise from the room above. Apparently, there were childern up there having a grand old time romping and stomping around. So, if you value your sleep you should book an upstairs room. It will cost you about $25 more, but may be worht it!
Here is a list of common issues that may give you some problems.
First, there is no internet in the rooms. You have to go to the office area to get any Wi-Fi.
Secondly, there are no TV's in the rooms. You will want to bring your own music and video machines as desired.
Third, there are no phones in the rooms and some cell phones will not work. We had 4 cell phones with three different carriers (Verizon, Tracfone, Republic), the only one that worked was the Verizon.
Fourth, there is an ice machine for the building, but it had no scoop and I believe poeple were dipping their own 5 gallon buckets in to the ice bin. So, I would be leery of using it for anything but filling your ice chest.
Fifth, bring some food to prepare in the gallery. There is only one restaurant within 6 miles of the resort. And, I didn't find that to be so great.
Some the good stuff.
First, the resort has a nice location within 50 yards of the a great beach. Many people were out enjoying the fresh ocean breezes. Some were taking pictures of the huge dift wood logs or the beautiful La Push scenery. Others played in the water, some were surfing (bring a wet suite).
Second, the coffee at the office was free and very good. Also, at the office they have a room to use for surfing the internet, getting some coffee, a book or a board game.
Third, parking was good, however, we were not there on the weekend.
All in all not too bad. If you like fresh ocean breezing and beautiful scenery this might a be a good place to visit. However, don't visit for the town, there isn't really anything to do or see in the town.
Stay in an upstairs room if you like it quieter.
