“Great choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

Really liked this place. Our room was very comfy. We were a group of 3, and the Captain Suite worked out well. This room can hold up to five, as long as you don't mind sharing one bathroom. There is another room for multiple guests which houses 4/5 and has two bathrooms. I loved sleeping in the tiny side room of the suite, which had 2 single beds, a porthole window, another window that opened ( parents of toddlers note: this window opens to the floor and has only a tiny fragile chain to prevent it from opening all the way ). The main part of the suite consisted of a small sitting area by the gas fireplace, a king bed, a small pullout sofa, a sink microwave and small fridge, and a large bathroom with a water view. We also had a small balcony. We all enjoyed watching the boats go by, so very close.
Service was great. There are no food or drink facilities here other than a soda machine. Breakfast is included but definitely needs improvement... In a town known for food and having several good bakeries, we were surprised by the packaged bagels and artificial- tasting pastries and loaves.
The cleaning could have been more thorough, the coffee machine was not washed out for us and there was no dish soap in the room.
A short walk brings you to the centre of town. Some shops nearest the hotel kept erratic hours on weekdays.
Overall highly recommended.

Room Tip: Water view is the only way to go.

We stayed one night at the Wild Iris Inn and the second at the Channel lodge. Both are wonderful accomodation, but for the money, the Channel Lodge offers waterfront rooms, with small balconies, nice size room with fireplace and very nice decor. Breakfast was included in the cost and consisted of home made granola, yogurts, nice pastries, toast, ham, cheese, boiled eggs, orange juice, coffee/tea. The breakfast setup on the second floor of the lodge had lots of room and decorated tastefully.

The room was spacious, nicely decorated and had all the amenities we needed.

What I liked most was the beautiful room and the balcony to watch the boats and birds go by.

What we disliked most was that we were not allowed to check-in before 3:00 pm. It was stated that "that was their policy" not, "I am sorry, your room isn't ready" Other than that the service was great and we wouldn't hesitate staying again. Note: Channel lodge sells discount booklets for $1.00 and it's for discounts off of food and shops in La Conner.. wish we had found this before our last day in town.

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor, which was close to the water, but for a better view, ask for one on th...

The Channel Lodge is likely the nicest place in La Conner. It's located on the main street and just steps away from the shops and art galleries. I had made reservations and there were no difficulties checking in. There were fresh cookies and coffee in the lobby. The room was small, but nice (queen size bed). The rate was $149 plus taxes. There was a small porch overlooking the channel and two beach chairs to utilize. The room was a bit stuffy/musty and that took getting use too. Also, the bed wasn't at all comfortable for me, but I understand that soft vs. hard is a matter of personal preference, so I can't really complain. There was a very nie complimentary breakfast with assorted fruits, juices, pastries, cheese etc.

I have stayed at this property at least 6 times over the last 7 years. On each trip, it is for a business retreat with my peers. After each trip I tell my wife that I have to take her back up to the beautiful property for a get-a-way, but never seem to make it happen. I'm telling you this, YOU need to stay at this property.
It is outstanding for our business needs, providing ample conference room space and tending to all of our needs when asked...But I think what it does for the business traveler could only be magnified more for a romantic weekend or get-a-way.
The rooms, although small are charming, have a nice balcony with view of the channel. They also include gas fire place, comfortable queen size bed, sitting chair, desk and decent size bathroom.
The property provides an amazing continental breakfast and has outstanding customer service. If you have not visited La Conner you should do so. And if you do, YOU should stay here!

I will be back again at the end of the month for another business overnight, and hope that this time I'll follow through with the overnight stay with by bride sometime soon! Book here with confidence..you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: higher floor gets you a nice view and you won't hear foot steps moving in the room above you!

What are the most important features that contribute to a pleasant stay at any hotel? I would say that they are cleanliness, amenities, service and comfort. Staying at Channel Lodge will provide you with those things. It is very clean and well-stocked with the necessary toiletries. There is a small refrigerator, a coffee service and a good, flat screen television. There are comfortable chairs, a nice desk, comfortable beds, and reading lamps on each side of the bed. You can use the alarm clock provided or you can get a wake up call. The breakfast provided with your stay is excellent with fresh fruit in abundance and great coffee, served in a room with a nice view and an outside deck for nice days. Service is given readily and with a smile. When you add all this up, comfort is a given. Now throw in coffee and homemade cookies in the lobby lounge, a gas fireplace in your room and a deck with deck chairs overlooking the Swinomish Channel and it’s just about perfect. Every room has a view of the channel because of the design of the building. We had a truly relaxed and comfortable stay. There is free wi-fi, plenty of parking in close proximity to the front door and an elevator. The only mild disappointment was that our last day was Monday. We got all packed up in order to leave in good time and then went down to the breakfast room. Breakfast is advertised until 11 a.m. We arrived around 10:30 a.m. and found everything put away. The good news was that we found a terrific place to have breakfast in La Conner! The message here is clear…get to breakfast early at the Channel Lodge or plan to eat in downtown La Conner.

Room Tip: Be sure to look at their web site. The rooms are very accurately portrayed and it will help you fin...

Nicely decorated cozy room with fireplace and lovely views of the channel, passing boats and birds. Exceptional breakfast for a hotel B&B, with fresh fruit, ham and cheese, cereals, breads and pastries, and service until 11:00 a.m. Walking distance to town area. Fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: Be sure to get a waterfront room - worth the extra money.

Nice hotel, very gracious hosts, good breakfast in an attractive dining area. But where are the drawers? No dresser or shelves in closet for T-shirts, underwear, etc. Had to work out of my suitcase. Fireplace cozy and warm. Peaceful view of water from 2nd floor balcony. Stayed April 10-12. Very close to the tulip fields. Also, there's no covered entrance big enough to drive a car through. Was raining when i arrived and got a little soaked trying to unload my car in the parking lot. Overall, a friendly place with a little unusual setup in the rooms.

Room Tip: Get a 2nd or 3rd floor room for a nice view of the channel from a balcony.
