Yelp was full of horrible reviews for the Lodge. Likely because the Lodge, being so new, didn't want to she'll out the money Yelp demands if a positive review is posted. Nonetheless, I think this place was good. There are tons of monitors to watch the current game (today's was England-Italy in the Euro 2012 tourney) so you can't miss the action no matter where you're sitting.
One thing that as right in the other reviews was that the service is slow. The waitresses seem to rely on their looks to distract patrons that it took 10 minutes to get you your first drink or when they repeatedly ignore you asking for the check when your faces are within inches of each other. That needs work.
The food appeared to be just average beyond what I actually ate. No one around me was raving about how good their sandwich or burger tasted. I'd have to say I can't blame them. Our nachos were nothing special, but were presented well and of decent quality for the $5 they required from my wallet. The beans immediately announced that they were from a can, but the chips held up to it and the guacamole, though stingily portioned, was tasty.
In the end, I would have to agree that The Lodge IS slightly above the average sports bar and grill, BUT they do have some refining to do in order to be truly exceptional.
