“Don't let the building put you off !!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

Northern Ales relocated to Kettle Falls over a year ago. It's old location in Northport WA was a little out of the way. Now they are right off Hwy 20 in a very unassuming warehouse building. It's very basic inside, but comfortable, from old armchairs and sofas to tables that can seat as many as you have in your group.
There's ping pong, pool and foose ball. The kitchen has expanded a little and turns out good basic pub food. Try the chile bratwurst! But be hungry! There usually daily specials always worth a try. And if you just want beer and peanuts, they are here too.
As for the beers, this truly is artesenal micro brewing, all made in small batches and always fresh. If you like the beers, some are now bottled and available in 64 oz growlers or normal bottles. Also available in local markets.
They are open Wed - Sat noon to 10pm.
Check their website for nights when there is live entertainment. And every Thursday, local vocalist and guitar player Chet plays a great mix that will have your toe tapping.
If you go away dissapointed, you probably shouldnt drink beer!! Oh there is also a nice short list of Red and white wines available by the glass or bottle.

“Great beer, great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2011

Northern Ales is now in Kettle Falls, WA. The atmosphere is very basic, but comfortable. Mis-matched tables are everywhere & peanut shells are on the floor. This is a no-frills place that makes GREAT microbeers. The menu selection, although limited, was a nice surprise. I could order home made chili, brautworst (sp?), baked potato or salad among a few other selections. The prices seemed a bit high for what you got (around $7 for the potato and $7 for the salad), but the food was excellent and in the end we decided very much worth it. I love salads and I have to say my salad was wonderfull! We brought our growlers and were able to take their beer to go with us. We will definitely go back when we are in the area.
