If you are looking for authentic and delicious Hawaiian food this is a great choice. We were wanting to enjoy some Hawaiian food and most of the places close to us were closed on Monday. We decided that it he drive to this location was not too far, and I a sure glad that we did.
We started with the Poncho Min Saimin. This broth based soup filled with noodles, BBQ pork, fish cake, Portuguese sausage, and egg is definitely comfort food. The noodles were delicious and with a little bit of hot mustard blended soy sauce for dipping, the flavors were amazing.
I decided that I also needed to try the Musubi. T make a Masubi they press sticky rice into a firm cake, top it wi your choice of meat, and then wrap it in nori like a little sushi package. I chose the Spam Katsu for my meat choice. To make Katsu they take the Spam, dust it with flour and deep fry it like fried chicken. It is a very lite coating, but simply delicious.
I also had to try the Mac salad at any Hawaiian restaurant I visit. The Mac salad has all the flavors of Hawaiian Mac salad, with the addition of some tuna. I enjoyed the salad a lot as well.
The staff and owner here are very friendly. If you have questions about the menu be sure to ask. They are very willing to tell you about the food and how it is prepared. Try something you have never had while you are here. You will not be disappointed!
