The reviews and such made this place sound not only like a great place to stay and close to lots of things, and a bargain to boot. Unfortunately, the room ended up being more like a high priced Super 8... To make matters worse you are on a pseudo island far away from anything aside from the hotel restaurant and another place across the street.

Anyway, I won't beat them up too much but it will be a cold day before...

We have stayed at this hotel twice/yr for many years--it is our home town. We always try to avoid the local festivities (Water Follies) and the weekends because people think that when they see water(the river)--they need to get drunk. The hotel, however, chose to plant a faux beer garden and rock and roll band practically under our window on the second night (a Wed.)of our two-night stay. Nowhere to park, no using the patio for conversation, couldn't even hear the television set!! We had to leave until their little event concluded--I hoped to talk to the mgr. about it, but no one could discern whether there was one on site either that night or in the morning. We are paying $30-40/ night more than when we began going there and no one could be bothered to even see that the doors at either end of the bldg. were closed and locked. One thing I have always loved about the place was the daytime desk clerk--and I am going to miss her.

Stayed on a Sunday night so the restaurant was closed. Motorcycle friendly with good parking right in front. Great live music and cheap drinks poolside. Staff very friendly. Rooms clean and roomy. Included breakfast buffet. Absolutely quiet with access to rvierfront walkway and other restaurants and pubs close by.

I travel a lot for work, and I am pretty particular about the hotels I stay in. I don't need fancy, but this place felt very old and outdated and is really over due for a major face lift. It isn't a chain and appears to be very low budget. (Note to mgmt: paint your entry area, especially the ceilings, get rid of the heavy and dark tones, pay for some commercial grade fliers instead of the hand typed messages you hand to your guests on white printer paper) The gap between the bottom of the door to our room and the floor was very large. It made my co-worker nervous so she stuffed towels there. I feel kind of bad writing this review because the front desk staff were so nice. We were going to stay for two nights but left after one.

This was our second visit here, and the room we had was very nice. We were on the top floor (4th) and the room felt clean and up to date. They had wireless, which was appreciated. The rate also included a decent breakfast buffet.
The hotel has a great setting on the river and we enjoyed sitting by the pool after dinner. For what we paid, it was a very good value and we would stay again.
We were exhausted when we arrived and ate at the top floor restaurant for dinner. I wish I could give the on-site restaurant a great review, but the menu and food are really just not good at all, although the service was pleasant. The whole tri-cities area seems to be totally lacking in nice dinner places that get good reviews here or anywhere else I researched on line.

We found the motel difficult to locate and only came upon it by accident. It's a bit old and the restaurant did not smell at all like food so we ate at the Cedars next door. The staff at the front counter were pleasant and the view from our room was over the river which was a plus. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to stay at the same place again as the price was steep for what we received. There's a lot of construction around so the area may look a bit spruced up in the summer which would be a plus.
