“Local history in person . . .”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013 via mobile

What a nice start for a small town with rich history in boatbuilding, fishing, logging, & commerce.
Walking & working on the FV Shenandoah is a treat - especially in the snow . . . otherworldly.
It'll be even more unique when the rehab of Donkey Creek is done so visitors can see spawning salmon move from the bay, upstream, into their beds. All from the walkway.

“Boring!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

I had great hopes for this museum. This place seems really confused as to what its message is. I was very disappointed. Not much to see. I'd give it a few years and see what happens. The old Gig Harbor museum was great!!!! The new one is nothing like the old one I am sorry to say.

“Top-notch museum for a small town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2013

We visit the museum frequently to see the traveling exhibits, hear the monthly talks, and to show our guests this nifty place. Our grandchildren love the school house and the stuffed salmon they can throw. My husband is fascinated by the film footage of the first Narrows Bridge falling into the water, and I like to listen to the oral histories of local pioneers.

“Perfect Depection of Gig Harbor History”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

I live in Gig Harbor, so this was very ntersting to me and, I feel, very well done. It might be a bit of a snooze if you don't care about GH History.

“A surprisingly rich history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

This is a fun family museum that will give you a great overview of the Gig Harbor Peninsula's maritime and immigrant history, as well as the story of Galloping Gertie and the new Tacoma Narrows bridges. Lots of hands-on exhibits for the kids, including a relocated old schoolhouse.
