Twilight town in a nutshell

Forks

4 of 5 stars
Seattle

I'll make this quick. Most of you visiting this town have 14 year-old daughters interested in the Twilight series. Visiting the town is fun for an afternoon, but what to do next? You are really in the middle of nowhere, so an overnight is worth considering. Stay at the Dew Drop Inn, a clean, pleasant enough motel on the main drag. If Bella's Suite isn't available, ask for the corner room 211. Start your journey at the local timber museum, where you'll get all the info you need to take a tour of Bella's home town. Eat at the South North Garden Restaurant (Chinese and quite tasty) or at Taqueria Santanna for excellent, authentic Mexican food.

Side trips for those unfamiliar with the area are the Hoh rain forest, south of town and a must-see, and Beaches 1,2 and/or 3 at La Push (the town of La Push is also worth a drive through - beautifully situated on the Coast). If heading north, consider the Makah Cultural and Research Center, home of the Makah Museum.

If Dad and/or Mom are fishers and can get away for a half-day, hire a guide to take you on one of the nearby steelhead/salmon rivers. I've also had some fun fly fishing in the area. For info. on fishing, talk to Bob at Olympic Sorting Goods.

Awesome little Usa town

Forks

5 of 5 stars
Brisbane, Australia

we went to Forks in Washington to see the places the Twilight Series was based on, we went there for a tour at 8am in the morning and the lodge restaurant down the road that owns the tour shop offered us 2 10% discounts on meals because we were given the wrong information on the tour times. the locals here are incredibly helpful and nice to everyone, they help us with directions even when we didn't ask for it, they gave us discounts for the tour mishap.
the food is amazing cheap with huge and I mean huge portions, and it is a great little american town to see if that's what you want to see, Forks and Port Angeles was our 1st View of USA and it was a great start to our usa adventure!

Everyone here is so nice, we came for the Twi-Dork thing, and we want to go back. We spent two days exploring the shops and sights.

Twilight has come to Forks.A must visit if you(or your daughter) has read the "Twilight" series.Take a self-guided tour of the special interest sights found in the books.Information is available at the C.of C along with both of "Bella's cars(one from the books and the other from the movies).Bella's house is the one from the books. My favorite was the old school front.Take the short drive to LaPush, and visit First beach, and Rialto beach. If your lucky it will be foggy or even a light drizzle, which we encountered in Sept/2010.If you want a reminder of your stay, check out "Dazzled by Twilight".There is also a store in Port Angeles.Enjoy it.
