“Missed out at Misty Valley”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

I note a response from the owners to a review below that our forgettable experience might have been an abberation as they were away when we were there about the same time.
First, a problem out of their control - the Tom Tom GPS has Misty Valley's location 15km south of Forks - not north - and it took us two hours and two phone calls to find it. Perhaps the owners should contact Tom Tom to rectify this.
As for the accommodation, we were met at the door by a young woman (barefooted) whose social skills were seriously lacking. Her manner was hardly that of someone who normally operates a B&B - quite curt and disinterested.
Our room was compact, to say the least, and finding a place for our two large suitcases was difficult and one had to be put on the very small floor space. The very fluffy carpet also had a distinctive, unpleasant odor. The ensuite bathroom was OK although the door was cumbersome.
It would have been nice to have a TV but the only one available was in a common lounge next to the kitchen. When we went to watch it one evening, another young woman - she was also employed there - was asleep lengthways on the couch. Magazines were also strewn on the table and floor. We decided to sit outside on the back verandah, which was quite pleasant.
A positive were the breakfasts which were quite fullsome; the girl who "greeted" us at the front door was also the cook and did a more than capable job in that regard - although the waffles and dishes were oversized.
On another matter, a cake put out in the morning for guests remained uncovered all day... a minor quibble.
The host made the point during our stay that the owners were away which was annoying because it would have been nice to get the "real" experience at Misty Valley Inn.
We stayed two days but, in hindsight, one would have been more than enough. The area is quite pretty, particularly the coastline.

I am sorry that this couple didn’t have a positive experience with us. Please note that this reviewer stayed in October of 2012, and the two employees who did not respond to their needs are no longer employed by Misty Valley Inn. I would hope that you read our other reviews and plan a stay at Misty Valley Inn.

OMG is what comes to mind. My husband and I just stayed there last weekend for 2 nights but wish we could of moved in. The grounds are very well maintined, and in the spring and summer would be a treat to see all the beautifull flowers. The house is also very beautifull, and homey. The rooms are cozy and so accomidating. We were offered above and beyond what was needed to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. The food is to die for, honestly we didnt need lunch all weekend and each evening there are all sorts of homemade treats to enjoy, so we saved money there, although the restaurant deserts were nothing compared to the mistyvalley inn. I could go on all week on how awesome this B&B is but you'll just have to go check it out for yourself. Also the hot tub was awesome, hot, bubbly, large, clean, and romantic. Thank you a million times over mistyvalleyinnn for our now very cherished 12th anniversary in forks. much love. The Davis's, The Dutch room, feb 2013

Room Tip: The dutch room is the best by far, private balcony, overlooking wildlife, river and mountains, large...

Beautiful place just off the road, outside Forks. Room very cozy and clean as well as bathroom. The whole place has such a nice friendly vibe and the owners, as well as the people working there are very nice. The lady owning the place prepare such a great breakfast in the morning and she gives you a full list of fresh thing to choose from the evening before that she'll cook the following morning at the time you choose....just brilliant!
Having breakfast in the common living room looking at the squirrels and chipmunks playing outside on the balcony has no price........

Room Tip: we wanted irish room cause my husband is irish but was already taken. we got the english one instead...

We live only a few miles from this B&B but had the opportunity to stay with friends there recently. This is a perfect "get away" for us, close by, but enough to feel refreshed and pampered! This is an amazing B&B. All the rooms are cozy and all have en suite bathrooms. The hosts are lively, friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. The breakfasts are amazing ranging from fresh strawberry crepes to a hearty omlette, excellent coffee (with real cream). This property is quiet and peaceful, the hosts make you feel instantly at home. A very comfortable B&B. the only downside (this from my friends from Seattle) is that the driveway is not marked well enough and they ended up at the next door neighbors. If you are heading to Forks, this is a GREAT find!

We stayed here for a couple on nights whilst visiting friends and family in BC and US.
What a wonderful find!. The owners were on a well earned break but the staff looked after us beautifully. The breakfast was divine and we enjoyed the company of the other guests around the table. Such a beautiful spot too with chipmunks and stella jays on the deck.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this place.

Forks is a small town, made famous by the Twilight Saga books. Its close to the rainforest and the Pacific beaches. Misty Valley B&B overlooks a beautiful valley. Grounds are lovely. Rooms are very comfortable. The best part are the hosts who go out of their way to be helpful and have a wide and deep knowledge of the area that they are very willing to share. Breakfast is delicious and huge, although a bit too sweet for my taste. It did keep us going for the whole day! We can highly recommend this property. There is nothing else like it in the area.

Room Tip: We stayed in the English Room. It was a little on the small side, but certainly adequate.

This is a surprising little oasis in the town of Forks, which has been recently made weird by all the “Twilight” attention. The grounds are lovely, with a great view of the misty meadow and mountains (hence the name) and a couple of well-composed garden berms with a few colorful blooms even in mid-October. There is a hot tub with a great view of the meadow and mountains while you deservedly soak after a long day of hiking. The living and dining areas are very restful and inviting. Since the Misty Valley B & B is just off highway 101 we were concerned about noise, but the traffic diminishes at night so we slept through, even with the windows open. We stayed in the English room, which was lovely but very small and it was hard to unfold two pieces of luggage simultaneously. We also wished for a larger desk space for our laptop. (Other rooms here did seem larger.) Like other reviewers, we arrived when owners were not present, but we found the back-up staff to be friendly and helpful enough – no complaints at all. We felt that our stay at the Misty Valley was a good value for the price and would unhesitatingly recommend it.
