“Cabin #1 - Such a find, if you can get over the deer head...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

I was a little nervous about staying in Forks b/c people are not too kind about it but on the map it seemed fairly central for what we wanted to do on that side of Olympic Natl Park. I was about to give up and book at a blah motel in town when I found this place. We paid about $100/night in late Sept. for a well-appointed cabin (#1 is half a cabin) with two queen beds, sitting area, tv, nice bathroom, cute rustic furnishings, etc. It is away from the main drag on a lovely piece of property and felt like a rental b/c we never saw the owners. We did not have trouble finding the cabin or dealing with self check-in but I think it might be tougher to find at night. Everything worked out well and I was really pleased with my choice when we saw the spots I was about to book in town...very blah. The only thing I was a little weirded out by was the deer head on the wall and a couple of stuffed birds. We're not hunters so not my cup of tea but there are accurate pictures on their website so if it's really going to freak you out, fair warning is given.

I was struggling to find accommodation in Forks when I booked this on the internet, so wasn't expecting much. However, we were very pleasantly surprised. We rented the trapper cabin for one night, which is basically a bedroom which shares the nearby bathroom block with the rv guests. The cabin was very clean and came with some unexpected features like the tv and good internet access as well as fridge, microwave and coffee maker. As one of your other reviewers has said there were other little touches like chocolates and a pocket torch on the key ring which were very welcome. Excellent price for a good nights stay.

Room Tip: Cabin is about 1/2 mile up an unmade road, which may put off some rental car drivers, but setting is...

We just needed a place to stay as we drove through the Olympic Forest. This was a great surprise. Even though it was right off the highway, it felt like we were camping in the woods. Definitely the best place to stay in Forks.

Stayed here Aug 19th 2012 in cabin 1. Cute little clean cabin. I was nervous about this "self check in". Sooo not a problem. There was a receipt and key on the table. I would get there in the daytime to make it easier though. I was so surpised with the little touches: wine glasses, chocolates on the end table, curtain in the closet so you don't have to see the hot water heater, cotton balls in the bathroom, noise maker by the bed. Outside there was a grill to use, a hammock and a croquet set. The little touches are what made it. And under $100!! I was worried about spiders since it was a cabin.. I did not see one! I highly recommend this place.

smallest cabin (trappers), but king size bed and very private. If you love your privacy, well, you won't even see your hosts for one...just the woods from your swing on the covered porch. Even though there was no hot water and the bathroom (sauna/shower/laundry) was in a nearby building, the feeling here in the north end of Forks was very peaceful. Inland, we had the warmth instead of the seaside cooling from fog. Location was great as you were minutes away from good dining, etc, but in a secluded pastoral setting. A ride to the south end of Forks takes you to the visitor/Twilight info centre. Just slightly north of the huckleberry turnoff is the La Push turnoff (hwy 110) We went to 1st and then 2nd beaches..about a 20 minute drive followed by a 20 minute walk through the forest puts you on 2nd which is a beautifully wild Pacific beach, with rocky outcrops and golden sand. On the Lodge property a trail takes you down to the river, passing by a giant sitka spruce. We took a wrong turn and came across a field filled with Roosevelt elk. Great moment. You'll want to take a few things to the cabin...a place setting for a nuked meal, for example. You have a nuker and a small fridge and coffee maker...plus the wonderful bed and a satellite flat screen TV opposite (if you want a respite from too much tranquility).

Room Tip: trappers cabin smallest but most secluded too. But bathroom complex outside.

The best place to stay in Forks, or anywhere for that matter! Kitty and Bill Sperry are the sweetest couple and are amazing hosts! The Huckleberry lodge is just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the inside. It is a truly magical place!!!

We happened on this place by way of typing in "places to stay" in the GPS. The cabin we stayed in was wonderful! The location was great, so close to the rainforest. In the morning we drank our coffee while watch a deer have its breakfast in the backyard area. We definately want to go back.

They also had a lot of fishing stuff (place to clean the fish..). I don't know anything about fishing, but it seems like you would be set at this cabin!

I accidently rated the swimming pool as excellent...there isn't a swimming pool. I just don't know how to delete it.

Room Tip: There is a trail to a stream. We didn't go down it because it was raining heavily. We heard it w...
