“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

Lovely waterfall after a walk through a beautiful forest. The huge trees, ferns and moss covered rocks make a colorful sight. I think my favorite part are the two picturesque wooden bridges along the way. The National Park trail map describes this trail as "old growth forest to a 90 ft. waterfall. 0.9 mi one way." Pick up the trail maps at any Olympic National Park visitor center (it's on the Lake Crescent Area map)

“Easy trail to see huge waterfall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

As the others have said, this is a easy (and accessible) trail for the most part. The end is steep with lots of stairs, but there is a viewing platform on the left fork of the trail that is easier to reach - but just as beautiful. This is definitely a very easy trail from which to see a stunning waterfall!

We took a spur trail along the river, just before crossing the bridge - You'll see a sign for Marymere Falls and Barnes Creek Trail. The Barnes Creek Trail goes along the creek for a while, then becomes steep and much more difficult. There are lovely huge trees and beautiful green leaves everywhere.

steep stairs at the end to see the falls, but the hike is also very pleasant all along the way through the forest. Yes, the Falls are magnificent

“A Trail You Will Enjoy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2014

The trail is well groomed, marked, and a delight to follow. The recommendations are correct in that the trail becomes steeper as you go.

“Shouldn't be missed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

Wonderful walk (less than a mile) through the rain forest. The trail is flat until the end, so it is possible for everyone (in shape or not) to see some view of the falls. Once you get to the bridge, you'll see another bridge to the right. You can see the falls in the distance from that second bridge and that's when the trail gets steep. However, it's definitely worth the short (5-8 minutes?) climb up! You can go down and stand near the base of the falls, but the trail also climbs above it (90 foot drop)--yet far enough away to get a nice full view.

Stop by the Lake Crescent Lodge for a meal before or after.
