“South End Park Gem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

This is a great park to see the South Puget Sound waterfront. great for a walk and picnic on a nice day. Up keep is not what it has been in years past, with budget cuts in WA. Parks Dept, but still very nice

“nifty little park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This park sits on the shores of Puget Sound. Fine place to picnic or to wander the long and varied beach available. Clam digging open seaonally.

“"wow" is it just me?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

camped at this state park third week of Aug/12 for a few days .Beach was nice. Tide was out so could walk about. Watched as dogs did their business and their owners blatantly ignored the bombs they left behind [i am a dog lover and owner] stayed in site #40 pull thru, but no matter how i situated the 24' trailer we could not get awning out around tree. Don't know how some of the bigger units got around the sites with the roadway being pretty tight. Washroom pretty run down and shower was ....well didn't want to go there. Cleaning crew were there every morning, but not much they could do with place.Pretty noisy most of daytime with children running thru the trails and your campsite. Parks employees very friendly. I've camped at a lot of state and provincial campsites and in my opinion this was one that i wouldn't try again

“Beach and Picnic area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2012

The beach is very nice. Lots of sand. Plenty of room to play frisbee, throw a football, play volleyball or make a sandcastle with a mote. A creek runs into the sound that kids enjoy playing in as well. The water is quite shallow for a good distance, which makes it a little "warmer" than other places on the sound. There is a decent bathroom where you can also change and shower the sand off your feet. There are a few picnic tables and barbque areas. Occasionally a large ship passes by, fun to watch and ride its wake. There is a day fee so be prepared to pay. It's like going to the ocean without the 3 hr drive!
