“Good Business Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

I am in the middle of a two week stay here for business. The room is comfortable and the Internet works well. It is an "even" numbered room so it sits right next to the freeway, but the double pane windows block most of the sound. Breakfast vouchers give business travelers a choice between bacon and eggs, pancakes, or a yogurt parfait with toast. After a week straight of the same choices, I go to Denny's, which is immediately next door. There are other good restaurants a short distance away, especially in the waterfront area. The hotel has an expensive but mediocre restaurant. The best part of staying here in the front desk manager known as "Monet". Monet's great attitude and sense of humor causes every guest to leave the front desk with a smile.

Room Tip: Ask for an odd numbered room.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

Stayed here for one night in August 2012. Primary purpose was shopping at the premium outlets. Very close to the premium outlets, less than a ten minute drive. Directly off of I-5 and very easy to find.

Perhaps around a 20-30 minute drive into Seattle, so if planning to spend most of time in Seattle, may not be worthwhile this far out.

Nothing immediately around in terms of walking distance, except for a Denny's across the street.

Great front desk staff, some of the best I have encountered. Lobby is large and brand new. Hotel has a lot of convention space, so it seems like the hotel caters to this crowd.

Rooms were clean and up-to-date. A bit cramped (we had 4 people though). Rooms included safe, microwave, keurig coffee machine and fridge. Windows on the room are quite small as it only forms half of a wall, the other half is the mirror. Cot was brutally soft, but can't expect much from a cot.

Free parking and plenty of it, which is a benefit compared to DT Seattle hotels. Continental breakfast is not free.

No noise issues whatsoever.

Gym is lacking, only cardio machines (mayb 3-4). Pool is decently sized, not enough to do any significant swimming, but more for a quick splash. Hot tub fits 4-5 people.

For the price, we were very happy with this option.

Stayed here one night for business. Thebhotel is right beside the I5 so there is a lot of traffic noisy. Ask for an odd numbered room to avoid this. The Eoom was nice and clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff is
very friendly and helpful. Food and drink prices reasonable. Parking easy.

Room Tip: Odd numbered rooms quieter.

The lobby looks nice for a Holiday Inn. We stayed in a room on the first floor and it was a handicap room (the hotel was full and it was the only room available). It was a good size room but as soon as we stepped inside there was a strong smoke smell. The window in our room opened to another sealed external window so there wasn´t much we could do. Even the sheets smelled. There were hairs in the bathroom and a bunch of hairs stuck in the hair dryer. The bathtub was filthy with mold. We won´t stay here again.

My family and friends have stayed at this Holiday Inn (use to be Express) for the past 4 years everytime we travelled to the USA for our shopping trips. We always loved the service this hotel provided - especially from Wilma at the Front Desk. This weekend - we noticed the staff had changed. Some were not up to par and rather rude. When we came down for breakfast in the morning we were surprised to find out that there was no longer any complimentary breakfast. When we inquiried at the Front Desk we were told that this Holiday Inn was a full service hotel and had never been a Holiday Inn Express and had not served complimentary breakfasts for over 4 months.
We were travelling with our same group of friends and had 3 rooms this time - we all stayed at this hotel 2 months ago and enjoyed breakfast and now the rude ladies at the front desk were implying that we were lying.
We loved this hotel previously - but will be bring our business elsewhere - $145.00 value was not there - and rudeness is definitely not appreciated by hotel guests.

The hotel has a pleasing appearance, and the front desk staff (so far) have been very helpful and friendly. But it's 3:15 am, and the noise from I-5 right outside my window is very intrusive. Since half the rooms in the hotel have pretty much the same freeway exposure as mine, you would do well to stay only in odd-numbered rooms! Even turning on the noisy AC window unit doesn't drown out the trucks going by. There are also fairly frequent train whistles, but those don't bother me.

There are only two elevators for a 7 story hotel, with hundreds of rooms, and one of them is out of service. Thus there are long waits for the single elevator, and it's always jammed. According to other guests, the one elevator has been out for 'several days'. Stairways are only at the far ends of this long hotel, but that's the best way to get to your room.

Room Tip: odd numbered rooms only

There was hair on the shower wall, disgusting. :( I wrote it down on our bill and asked the ladies working at the front desk to give it to the manager. I was hoping to hear an apology or an explanation back but I heard nothing. I will avoid this hotel in the future.
