“Vintage warplanes that actually fly!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2012

These aircraft have been restored, then flown. If you are looking for perfect polish on the wings, go somewhere else. These are real planes, they fly on a regular schedule (the museum shares the airport with the Boeing plant where 747, 777 and 787 planes are built). Takes you back a few years.

These aircraft fly. They really fly. Not just sit there and look back at you, they fly.

“Up close and personal with historic WW2 planes (+ extras)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2011

Admission is 12. Very laid back, only 3 or 4 other couples there. Docents around for a ton of info about each plane. Check the website for their current collection, which now includes 2 WW2 tanks (one a T39 and the other a Panzer) as well as an SU29. They have several flight Saturdays during the spring and summer when they take out 2 of the planes to exercise them and keep the mechanical parts working. That sounds like a real blast and I think they attract a much bigger crowd on those days. For photographers, tough conditions to photograph since both hangar ends are semi-translucent, causing a lot of glare on bare metal, especially the P51 Mustang.
